So today on ITKWM she was sitting the whole time while vendors were doing all the presentations. Mary said today was going to be subdued. Then the Temp-tations show after has no host at all and it's Tara and Lisa doing the show by themselves. They are doing a great job but has something happened at the QVC studios or something? It's really different and quite a shift so I'm just wondering that's all.

All week, QVC2 has started vendor-only Live shows, mixed in with the normal hosted Live shows that have been reinstated (on a limited schedule) on that channel.

So far, the solo shows have been Susan Graver, Kim Gravel, Angel Smedley for QF, and now Tara with Temp-tations.

Vendor only is basically an infomercial. Which right now I'd like because a particular host has forgotten there's a vendor, and won't be quiet.

Tara and Lisa did an excellent job.  I think that this type of presentation should become the norm.

Re: QVC2 today 2/6

[ Edited ]

I typically love Mary's shows and enjoy Tara and Lisa together as well, but I was very frustrated by the shows today and thought they were a waste of time for me and anyone else who might have wanted to purchase anything.

What is the point of having live shows where you watch a vendor hold up an item far away from a camera while describing it because they're in their own kitchen, and then they present the item variations by cutting to a CGI screen with an image of someone clicking through the various color and style buttons online in little pictures like we would on our own computers, or cutting to video snippets of a previously aired presentation that only shows "the David run-through" closeup shot of touching each color/option for a moment as the camera pans down the line on a little shelf? The vendors are doing their best and this really isn't their fault, but it simply doesn't work. Especially when there are new items and this is the first chance to get a better view of them or to learn more details about them, this approach is totally ridiculous.

I try my best to go with the flow and adapt to new ideas as they crop up, but this is just such a terrible concept for a shopping channel that I wanted to take the opportunity to share my disappointment (and my hope that this is VERY temporary).

I haven't caught one of these vendor only shows yet and wonder if it's a trial thing?

Actually they should have vendors only on Q2 and hosts only on the main channel.

If they stop having both together that would be more calm enjoyable programming, IMO.

Sounds like they are trying out the idea of vendor only shows.  Have to wonder how the hosts feel about this?  Interesting to see how it works out for sales figures.
