A sales ploy and it must work or they would give it up. It doesn't make me rush to order though if I hadn't already planned to order. I'm sure some of us do buy more than one of an item so that part is true. But, a lot of times after the show is over the sold out items are back as available because the impulse buyers had second thoughts and canceled the order, I'm guessing.

It's appealing to our PRIMAL FEAR of "being left out".... whatever it is. We might like the product in passing, maybe even think it would be something that we can really use but we decide that we'll pass on it... and then they start with the "patter" and we (often) change our minds and buy it anyway.

Has anyone else noticed that with every TSV there is one color, etc, that is very limited right at midnight? Some hosts are worse than others with this ploy. They are so busy with telling us how limited it is that they cannot even do a proper presentation. Also, the continual updates at midnight are distracting.
