QVC's Host-Marketing Shows

[ Edited ]

It was David's Low Carb Cookbook and mentioning low carb 20 times in every show, after he lost all that weight.

Then Jennifer's Wedding Countdown shows, and her Bridal Party Show -- lasted what seemed like 6 months.

Now Mary Beth just announced her limited series Retirement shows coming up -- a whole eight months before her retirement.

Got to hand it to QVC, they will not miss an opportunity to use anything they can for sales.  I hope it's working for them Smiley Very Happy.

Why wouldn't they? They are in the business to make as much money as they can for their shareholders.

People like and enjoy watching David Venable, I bought his cookbook..

Re: QVC's Host-Marketing Shows

It may work initially but anymore I seldom tune in very often, I check in via the daily 'recently on air' and I glance at the emails. And overkill is a sure to drive me away, and part of that is that the host (And QVC) lose credibility with me, which is why I have chosen not to watch regularly. I have to admit, when I watch I will often then make a purchase so it is Q's loss of my business.

It seems to be the way to sell things nowadays.  QVC's version of "influencers".

I guess people have always been influenced by celebrity endorsements.  These are QVC "celebrities".

@Bhvbum   It may be a good move indeed.  Like I said, "I hope it's working for them."  Sales must show positive results or they'd cool it a bit.

I have no interest in David's cookbook, and stopped watching a lot of his shows because of his incessant low carb talk and staring down the other hosts tasting food.  But that's just me.  I'm sure there are many who loved it.

As I said, I hope it's working for them. I really do want QVC to do great with all these initiatives.  For me, I'll like some, I won't like others; we're all different.

The Coffey engagement - wedding saga was overkill.  Thank goodness for the mute button.

@Bhvbum.  Then why don't they do something about the many annoyances that deter so many customers and cause TVs to click off?

Re: QVC's Host-Marketing Shows

I agree. Ive turned off Davids show becaasue Im sick of him talking about how he eats.and doesnt eat the vendor food. Welcome to how a lot of us have been eating. Maybe people care. Ive always hated people talking about what they eat; find it boring.  Kerstin too. Cant watch her usually. Not sure why the Q has decided to let hosts bring their personal business into selling, other than the light cht chat about family.

I'm not a cooking David kitchen viewer but see numerous comments about David and no carbs. I recently caught a few minutes of a food show and David was most definitely eating carbs.

@Caaareful Shopper   I can count on one hand how many times I've watched his shows.
