QVC is doing UX testing for their website

A few days ago, I received an email inviting me to participate in QVC user experience testing. As they explained it, they were going to run a series of exercises and observe. This is generally how UX testing is done, as I have been on both sides of the process. I was unable to participate because I have been out with a terrible migraine.

I thought my fellow forum users would want to know because of all the feedback regarding the website and its functionality. I consider it very good news.

I guess this is whats causing the missing link when trying to look at an item after search

brings it up.

They have upped the number of surveys and questionaires that they do. I've gotten more than the norm lately.

[ Edited ]

Learned something new. I had to look up what UX testing is.  I have not received any survey emails in recent days, but I did get a pop-up survey when I logged in to the forum yesterday.  I got it about a month ago and reflexively instantly closed it before I even realized what it was.  I took it this time, it was only 5 questions.  UX testing is good if it affects us in a good way. The forum survey makes me think they are again considering doing away with it.

Also, noticed that when I click on items recently on air, I can scroll to see previous lists from shows earlier. In other words, I don't need to select the hour of the show, I can scroll to get a list of every show before the one that I am looking at.

Personally, I am tired of being bombarded with surveys, questionnaires, solicitation for feedback from everywhere

If QVC wants information from customers, they need to look no further than these Blogs and Forums.

There is a wealth of information here!

They just need to ACT on this information.

And, yes, I do know that UX testing is not the same as gathering opinions.

It appears that we may be dealing with a metadata issue here. For instance, it's possible that the individual who entered the item number or other identifier may have inputted too many characters, causing the website to be unable to display it.

OR

They've designated a certain size header and whoever entered the item info in the CMS is trying to use a font that is too large.

Bad links, pages, etc., should be identified by running a report and going through them one by one. But yes, not cool from the user side.

I have noticed that Recently On Air displays all the day's shows which I absolutely do not like. Have to scroll scroll scroll until can get to the end to click Program Guide. Seems a shopping site would want it easily accessible.

UX testing:

A user experience test, also called a usability test, which is used to evaluate the user-friendliness of an application. The idea behind implementing Usability testing is to evaluate the ease and flexibility of using the application from the user's perspective.
