Re: QVC in desperate need of LR for sales boost

Goodness....let it go...let it go!  Lisa has a new life and the Q has a new life.  I enjoyed watching Lisa because she was funny, but I don't remember that I ever bought anything because of her.  Her style and my style were totally different...

Re: QVC in desperate need of LR for sales boost

I think QVC doesn't know the people they want to sell too.  I have been a Qvc buyer for years and use to enjoy the quality and prices and unique items.  Mostly those attractions have gone.  I am educated, respect varied opinions and love being at home as a wife, mom and grandmom.  I have to deal with a lot of stuff and come up with some amasing solutions.  That said, I'm finding hosts are talking down to me and not allowing me to know how to use or wear an item.  I have lots of advice, cute stories, miracles and people who are dear but I don't like it when they try to persuade me to buy based on those things.  They don't even behave as professionals presenting.  David V. at least corrects a vendor when they over step their boundaries.  QVC we are smater than you think and we are finding bargins elsewhere.  Encourage your buyers to be less thrilled by celebs and more intune to what we can't find elsewhere.  Some shows I want to watch I can't due to the behavior of the hosts.  Thanks for listening.  I've seen these remarks on here before.  Maybe you should consider.

Maybe QVC can offer a TSV for Charm School 101 so that you & I may attend!! Lol.

Do you think there is room for a third person?  I need to join you and from the number of deleted posts there may be a whole lot more of us.

Re: QVC in desperate need of LR for sales boost

What I take from the OP is that QVC is nothing without Lisa R. and if they were to rehire her, their sales numbers would go through the roof.

I disagree. QVC started going down hill before she left and one of their best decisions was to not to renew her contract.

I just wish that the Powers That Be would actually listen to or read our reasons for why sales are slumping.

I don't think getting to know hosts and liking their facebook pages is the way to go.  Give us back QUALITY, VALUE and CONVENIENCE.

Re: QVC in desperate need of LR for sales boost

Spoiler
AGREED! Mypurchases were never related to her at all. PRODUCT, PRICING, REVIEWS !! There is a lot of competition and "deals" are not happening. Bundling a new configuration of products available elsewhere (often wholesale clubs) makes them barely competitive.
Extending the period of purchase to 24 hours like IQ, IS ONE move I would make + 45 day return policy. (More noted below )
As much as I despise HSN, they do introduce more new skin/cosmetics to the market or TV buyers and high end at that !
Q's move to IQ I hope pays off as soon as they get the sound AT LEAST where 1can view it. Theres just so little that is new and affordable. Its like they are the PHILOSOPHY network like Evine is the WATCH/Invicta network.Interest and loyalty to Phil. has waned since being sold to Coty, I think. I am one!! There are SO many skincare product lines that don't deliver, consumers are intensely researching before buying. AND WE ALL NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN REVIEWS ! I LOVE Q exc clothing and shoes, REFUSE to buy HSN EVERRR. Brick and mortar has become aggressive in pricing, coupons, online sales. Its a tough row to hoe now vs when they went on the air.
Need more unique products, everything flex to SOME degree
If I hear one more IT , Philosophy, Algenist, Josie Maran "life story" I'LL SCREAM !
Leave your purchase REVIEWS and cheer THE Q to max success. They are the most reputable of all.
Sorry, not the best writing here....rushing!
Happy 2017 !

Perfect example Joan Rivers when she launched in 1990 had an ok debut she didnt set sales records and it was wowing numbers. Then they paired her with Kathy Levine numbers started skyrocketing to the point her sales were up like 400 percent after a couple years. These ladies would have shows with sell out after sell out. Joan said years later i dont know if my line ever would have taken off without Kathy Levine. When Joan died the ceo said she hit 1 billion dollars in sales at QVC. A host and chemistry with vendor can result in increased sales. Some hosts are ill fit for certaib hours. LR said never put her on a cooking show.

@JONNYSBRO I'd really like to see a published, credible report of business sales results for QVC that back-up your claims.  You base everything directly on the power of Lisa, and no other decisions or influences.  It would be interesting to see actual business results and not only your opinion.

Thank you, @Caaareful Shopper, I was just coming to post the same thing, but you had already posted.

Facts and numbers, @JONNYSBRO - they matter.

Indeed.   I'd like to know why these repeated claims never have anything factual to back them up.   It's not as though it's one thread with one person's viewpoint...  this is one in a long series.   At this point, most of us who read here with any frequency at all realize these are repetitious (actually, they're resuming threads that were already closed) and they never provide substance for the claims.   I'd love to see what the basis of all this is, @JONNYSBRO.

Well said!

Funny how they are okay with the negative reporting of their business model and that rests solely on a former host to save it.  (which is opinion) Yet when facts are asked for or other REAL reasons are given why it's not working are deemed as opinion and not worthy or as inappropriate or rude or blah, blah, blah. Kind of misguided censorship...hmm.

@charvale, Jonnysbro is entitled to her opinion. Once again, it was explained by the mods that we can express our opinions, however, we cannot be unkind or fight. In either case, posts and/or threads will be deleted.

I don't think for one nanosecond that QVC is protecting anyone, especially Lisa. In fact, they might have a vested interest in reading the reviews of Lisa and her so-called business. Keep in mind that QVC doesn't spend time and money on these boards merely for our fun and entertainment. The boards provide information that QVC can use to guage their customer base.

I agree with @Sheilaray.  The OP is indeed entitled to her opinion.  Even though I feel her opinions are always written in a manner to incite, they are still her opinion.

A post response of mine was also removed, but that's cool. I apparently rolled my eyes too far back in my head and my written word expressed it a little too much.

There's nothing in the guidelines prohibiting talking about former hosts.

Thanks for articulating the point I placed in red, @Caaareful Shopper.   I think they're written that way, too.   Based on my experience here, inciting or disrupting actually is considered to be against the published standards.   At the very least, if we start certain topics and know what the outcome has always been...  that looks a lot like bait to me.   I'm not a person who normally questions moderation, and I hope that's not O/T to mention, just a passing comment about the reason I think some of us have raised the issue.   It is, after all, related to the pattern these threads have established.   The best we can do, I suppose, is try to go with the flow though possibly a little head-scratching confusion comes into play at this point.

I disagree with OPs point.

What I miss is the quality - Precious Fibers, etc.

But that has all been hashed over before too.
