Last October I bought a Susan Graver jacket (a281163). It was $59.92. That wasn't a "one day only" or special pricing. That was just the price.
Because I really liked the jacket and today is easy pay day I thought about buying it again in a different color -- and it is even on "clearance"!! The problem is the clearance price is more than I paid for it in the first place! It is now $63.52 - ON CLEARANCE! This just annoys me. I feel like QVC thinks we are stupid! It really turned me off and I am having second thoughts about buying another one.

I think for the most part, their "fashions" do not justify their prices! T-shirts for $60+ etc.

@daisy4 I rarely will buy an item the 1st time it is on air, if I find something I like on air/on line I place it in my Wish List and just bide my time, you would be surprised at the difference in prices from week to week, but in the Q's defense, other retailers do the same thing.

YEs, all retailers play pricing games but I have never ever heard,of a "clearance" price being higher then the original selling, price. ONly QVC does that.

@KathyPet @daisy4 I do not mean to cause any anger here with my OP, and I agree it is very underhanded when ANY retailer plays with pricing, and QVC was wrong in the instance that @daisy4 mentioned, but as an experiment choose an item and watch it for a month at another retailer, you might be very surprised at the differennt prices that one item is given over time, it has been an eye opener in how I look at most retailers, and not a positive one at that!
Sorry if I offended anyone!

Other big retailes have been fined for those kind of practices. Anyone who has proof can turn a company in for consumer fraud. Just saying. The Q is extremely overpriced (in my opinion) for fashion items.

It does seem unfair but as others have stated I have seen other retailers do crazy pricing too. I am a constant customer of Talbots. They have a new sale every other day. If you miss one sale there is another right around the corner. I have bought things "on sale" and a week later it is on a better sale. This practice drives me crazy. Also on their website if you like to order online the clearance prices go back and forth all the time. So, I guess what I am saying is it seems very unfair but it happens and not just at QVC.

Yes. An irritating retail practice for sure. A good reminder to consider the value whether it's at regular, sale, or clearance pricing. We are conditioned to think we are getting a deal when something goes on sale. That is not always the case. Once you learn the retail game it gets easier to pass on the purchase. Well, unless you are impulsive. LOL

Hello @daisy4 - In checking, A281163 was at an OTO price of 59.92 on 10/15/16 so that is why you purchased it for that price. Thanks!

I have had items in my wish list for a year or more that never changed in price. Some of them were put on the list at a clearance price, and still had the same price over months and months. You would think they would keep lowering the prices on things that are several years old, but they don't! I just don't get it. If something hasn't sold out after three years at a clearance price, wouldn't you think they'd lower the price more to get rid of it?
