I was surprised to see a QVC Italian Gold Show on my TV schedule, Q2, this afternoon, and, as a gold lover, had to watch.  Jennifer Coffey was hosting, but she introduced a new host, said she was one of 2 hosts starting.  It seems like only yesterday they were shedding hosts.

The name of the new host I saw is Vanessa Herring, and she has a beauty blog with her name, for those who are curious.  She spoke only a little bit, and I got a screenshot.

Re: QVC bringing in new hosts

I saw her with Mary Beth. She seems very pleasant and has experience in local news.

Lovely photo.  Does she have a pleasing, broadcasting voice?  (Not a little-girl, screechy, high pitched, fast-talking, mumbling voice?)  I just think that is an important characteristic for a host to have.

I do think it a strange business model to hire more hosts, after they showed many to the door.  I thought it was all about the financials.

I believe there are 3 new hosts: Monifa, Rosina, and Vanessa. I'm looking forward to "meeting" them!  Smiley Happy

Not at all 'strange' if hosts were not making sales and earning their salary.

New hosts can be on a part time basis- more cost effective for QVC. They are out to make money.

@NYCLatinaMe   actually, Jennifer mentioned there are 3 new hosts. Your screenshot of Vanessa is lovely.

The other two are Monifa Days, who is already up on QVC's Meet Our Hosts page, and Rosina Grosso who hasn't been on air yet (she has done QVC's Streaming Deals video already).

Re: QVC bringing in new hosts

Q can pay less to new hosts than those who have been around a long time. It's wrong but it's the big business way these days.

@CalminHeart   it is the way things are, but I think it's been going on for quite a while in highly competitive fields

but loyalty goes both ways -  give a worker a chance to improve their lot, and loyalty often disappears

I think I've only seen one new host and she was ok.  I hardly ever watch but I do see Ali Carr once in a while and think she is a very good host.
