I noticed a change in the last couple of months on how cashback is calculated when you use Rakuten when making a purchase from QVC. The change applies when an item has free shipping. Here is an example of what I mean:
The item you are buying costs $50 and has free shipping. The Rakuten cashback that day is 10%. So, you would expect that your cashback would be $5.00 (10% of $50), but it's not. The cashback is calculated by taking the $50 cost of the item, and subtracting the "discount" of the shipping. So it would be: $50 minus $5.50 shipping = $44.50. Then, 10% of $44.50 is $4.50. That's what you would get in cashback, NOT $5.00.
I don't know who is responsible for determining the cashback amount; QVC or Rakuten. But i feel this is very deceptive.
