These decisions lately to cut back on shows, channels and hosts seems so abrupt. The demand for product is there, consumer confidence is still there even during these tough times. Retail sales increased in June. I am an online and home shopping shopper because the stores and mall near me are crappy. Nowadays it seems more easier to do shopping online or at home. The demand is there. No one said to delay shipping. Shipping was an essential so no reason for the delays. I enjoyed watching Q2. I think you guys hired too many hosts but no need to get rid the one's that were there for over a decade because you guys hired too many. There was no need for 3 shopping channels as two is plenty. Rick is boasting how QVC is in millions of households so sounds like there should be plenty of opportunity to make a sale.
I use QVC as my active/live online shopping experience. This is were people were going to buy instead of inside a store. You guys should be doing well because the demand is there. So why the cut backs?

don't panic; there are plenty of other on-line vendors and catalogue sales too. QVC in not the be-all and end-all of on-line shopping.

@cyn2009 Good heavens, don't you know there are a million places to shop online? Most of your favorite stores are selling online.
I couldn't care less about all the hosts they have let go. I've never understood how someone can get so emotionally invested in a TV personality.

You had to be blind not see this coming in some form. 24 hour on air was cancelled - shipping problems - account $ problems. It was very obvious the boat was tilting.

Guess I missed something, who's been let go?

@fthunt I think it's more like they've hit an iceberg LOL!

Because it's a business and we have been experiencing a pandemic for 5 months. Slow manufacturing and shipping, safety measures that require extensive planning. They aren't doing layoffs and making drastic changes for fun. They have to be profitable.

I wonder if this is just the first symptom of many "changes" coming to QVC. So much has gone wrong lately that I think there's a lot more "changes" in the not-too-distant future.
I could list some of the problems they've been having lately but I don't have enough bandwidth.

It's easy to understand why people become emotionally attached to the QVC hosts. They become "friends" when you have watched them for so many years. You get to know them; you see them get married, have children; endure sickness or the loss of a parent. It becomes pretty easy to identify with them.
I'm sad too see these ladies leave. I think they do a much better job than some of the newer talent I've recently watched. I really do thank them for sharing their lives, and teaching us about products that enrich/enhance our lives!
