Thanks for bringing up the Halloween shows, I appreciate it. Some people just argue for arguement's sake, and social media exacerbates behavior that at times.

I would say it is good that Q sold so much they don't have enough merch to do the spooktacular. Odd they didn't have things planned just for that show. I wonder if they bought down on their quantities or if they really just sold way more than normal. It is better to sell out than have overstock. A clerk at Pottery Barn told me she thought this was the biggest year they have had for Halloween merchandise. They didn't have much left and that was a week ago. I wonder why Martha's show was cancelled. I haven't seen new things from her this year.

When did all of this merchandise sell?  All online?

Were there Halloween shows on prior to the Spooktacular?

I looked @ Martha Stewert's merch and I think I saw one pumpkin.

I think if the show was popular it would have had dedicated merchandise special to the show.  I think that perhaps QVC purchased less inventory this year.  I did not recall seeing a specific Halloween decor show at all.  You?

@BlueWhale14  Sorry, but David was on his Coffee Talk stream this morning, and he said QVC has cancelled the Spooktacular with Jane and David for September 14. He said they sold so much product they just didn't have enough to make a whole show. They are going to do "Rose of Tralee" instead. I don't mind Irish items, but it would be nice if they at least replaced it with a Fall decor show. I don't buy specific Halloween items, but I know many people were looking forward to the show.

I have a hard time believing QVC cancelled David & Jane's Halloween show because of a lack of inventory.  It's all in how it's explained.  If QVC still believed this duo show would bring in the most sales, they would still schedule it.  Halloween, of all decor shows, is a huge retail boom for industry sales!

There are plenty of Halloween shows with other hosts, scheduled for other dates, on the main channel and QVC 2.  To me it looks like the schedulers shifted the focus from David & Jane together for Halloween, and spread it around.  Good, I like the shake-up for a change.

I can definitely see how Halloween merchandise would be depleted early.

First, management has disclosed that tighter inventory control is a component of the turn-around plan.  For a holiday like Halloween, which has a very short shelf life, reduced inventory was likely ordered.

Second, many more shoppers go directly online to search for items and no longer wait for a broadcast.   If inventory is loaded early, shoppers will find it.

As for the David and Jane show, who knows what happened.

@jackiejenny , I saw a show about a week ago with Kerstin as the host. I think Alberti was suppose to cohost, but was not feeling well.

Kerstin was selling lots of Halloween items, and it seemed things were selling really well.

Edited to add: a couple of weeks ago David was presenting some Halloween items.

Okay @Tissyanne...I guess I missed that. I had not seen any Halloween shows.

I LOVE Halloween and like to watch the shows.
