Candace - I can understand your frustration.  Yes, we have to pay for shipping and return shipping if we don't like the item so it is important to know if we really like the item before making a purchase.  If, once the item arrives,  the item isn't a good color for you or doesn't fit correctly, it is worth your while to explore whether an exchange would be useful as an exchange alleviates a part of these problems as the exchange won't cost you like a return will..  There are many advantages to QVC but all of us learn, over time, that we have to be very selective when we make a purchase.  For me, I have learned which vendors I can trust and which are unpredictable.  But that has taken years of learning.  (And Lord knows the amount of money I have wasted on the poor QVC shipping policies.  QVC knows there are better options but they choose not to offer them.). QVC likes to think they do good but they really only do average.  So look for the items that you really like or are convenient for your lifestyle.  Don't immediately trust the presenters because they are professionals getting you to buy but you will be the one paying for their salesmanship. Use your Wish List so you can wait for a Free Shipping Day.  It helps - both with the costs but also with those immediate buys that reallly aren't necessary.   I can feel your grief as I've been there.  I wish QVC cared more about their customers but I hope another customer's recognition of your grief helps you to move forward and learn.  Don't do that "Silly Me" stuff.  It was a marketing ploy.  They knew it and didn't care about you.  But I do.

Your post would be so much easier to read with paragraphs @KarenK .

@Kachina624   yesterday I mailed two separate boxes to my nieces -one in Texas - one in Florida.  Boxes weighed just a smidge over a pound and measured about 9x4.   Charges for Ground advantage to Texas was $13.20 and ground advantage to Florida was $17.10.  $6.95 to return an item is not unreasonable

@Teddixat.  Isn't that riduculous?  And the RAISE postal rates over the holidays which started a few weeks ago.

I often see posts where people say they rarely return anything.  I however do a lot of shopping on qvc and though I try my best to be careful in my selections I do have to make returns. I think that they look at the ratio of purchases to returns to calculate if they are losing money on a customer. I try to return 2 items in one package so that I will only be charged one shipping fee.  I also like most look forward to free shipping days, and I have had very good experiences with As IS and clearance items. There is a cost to doing business this way but for me it's worth it.

@Kachina624 I was surprised but it seems to be the way everything is going these days--up up up.

I think people forgot that QVC is for profit.  They need to make a profit.  Big enough to cover the cost of making the profit.  That's what a business is.  They are not wholesalers.  They are retailers  Like going into a giant store in a screen.
