I'm done with QVC. I knew that they charge for using their shipping label, and I can live with that. But I just recently returned something (a LOGO top)which was too big.
Buying clothes from QVC is always a gamble because their sizing is inconsistant, not to mention that the hosts blab on and on about the colors, which we can all see with our own eyes and SPEND LITTLE or NO TIME ON SIZING which is the most important issue.
So back to topic, I saw that my refund was ZERO, so I called Customer Service.
I hadn't realized until now that they also charge SHIPPING & HANDLING FEE on top of the Label Fee!
Silly me, I know, I should have known.
Still, now that I know, I will limit my purchase to products that I feel sure about.
BTW always check the internet, Google the product - you can very often find the same item much cheaper, sometimes with free shipping & returns. The only QVC advantage is the "Easy Pay" and that's it.

So you're saying that in addition to the $6.95?? shipping label cost there's another fee deducted from the refund?  In all my years shopping here I think I returned 1 item.  I only buy if I'm 90% sure of keeping the item and rarely spend more than $30 so if I don't like it, I just donate it.

Look forward to what other posters have to say about this.

The shipping and handling is probably for when they sent the item to you

Re: QVC Returns Ripoff

[ Edited ]

So sorry @CandidaB  that you didn't realize the return policy before ordering.

No one ripped you off.

You are NOT charged an additional  shipping and handling fee to return.

You ARE charged the return label fee.

You do NOT get refunded your original shipping and handling fee that you were charged to get it to you.

Sadly, this has been the policy for years and years.  Wherever we order, it's on us to know the policies.

I agree and I try to be VERY careful what I order so I do not have to do returns.....almost always order on free shipping days exclusively.

You could have done an even exchange for color or size on that Logo top for free and then you would have not been out any money.

@CandidaB - If you return something, other than for it being defective or the wrong item, you pay the prepaid shipping label cost and the original shipping is deducted from your refund.  It has been that way for many, many years and I would expect longtime customers to know that.

You could've returned it for an exchange, since your only issue seems to be that it was too big, and you wouldn't have been charged the return or original shipping.

And most of us are already astute shoppers who do price-check comparisons and read reviews before buying anything - from QVC or any other retailer.

It's on the customer to do the research before hitting that "submit" button.

@CandidaB.  The fee you pay to use the label is he return shipping charge and is almost always less than you'd pay at the post office.  Your original $3.50 shipping charge also is not refunded.  You are not charged anything else.

QVC provides the actual measurements for each garment which, if used, should eliminate any questions about sizing.  I find sizing to be very consistent.

I think something else is happening.  I saw the zero refund amount on my order and I realized it was because they changed the "order" of announcing what's happening when you use the online refund.  First you get an email saying that they know the return is on the way.  Then you get one saying they received it (and that shows a zero refund amount) and then a few days later, the actual amount is refunded.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's what happened to me.  Give it a few days and see if you see a credit.

@CandidaB

Did you purchase with "easy pay"?

Sometimes the amount refunded is zero or a couple of dollars because the 1st easy payment you paid is sometimes exactly or just a couple of dollars more than the cost to ship there and back.

This made me do a double take at first because at first glance it looked like a "ripoff" when  I returned something and would see that maybe $2.00 was returned when the cost of the item was $30.00 but then I had to remember that I'd actually only paid $8.00 easy payment....

@CandidaBMost places now offer easy pay or their version if you use a credit card.  I never use it but i always see it offered.

I agree how the hosts do not talk enough about sizing.  That is so frustrating to me as I want to be able to order with confidence that the item will fit me so I don't have to return anything. I also check the garment measurements.  Then if you do an exchange oh my goodness it is so difficult to do even with customer service help. I always call when I return an item this and the last time it took me four weeks after talking to two representatives  to get my item exchanged that I had returned to the post office. And the calls with  the reps took at least 15 minutes!  Luckily the item I was exchanging for a smaller size was still available.  I don't have many returns luckily, but the hosts also blab on about stupid things while presenting the item that have nothing to do what they are selling.  Yes, sizing being inconsistent is another thing.
