QVC Price Increases!

I never go into stores anymore. I don't know for sure that QVC is more expensive....but it seems like it is.

I think more than that, in my opinion, with me anyway, I don't feel like I'm getting the quality and design in the garments that the extra cost should provide.

In other words, I'm paying more money for something that maybe even 1 year ago would have had the same design (very casual) but been cheaper.

I've said that I look back at some of the amazing designs, they were not simple lines sewn together...T-Shirts, etc.

They had some complexity to them. They were clothes that made you feel good to wear them....these QVC clothes are not like that.

But I honestly believe the cost increase is to cover the QVC cost of making larger size (size people) clothes without charging more money for them.

Think about it.....think about how much material it takes to make an XX small size T-shirt.

Now think about how much material it takes to make a size 5X T-shirt? How many XX small T-shirts can you make with a size 5X T-shirt?

Look! I wear a size XL-1X. I know how big my 1X size is compared to a much smaller size.

QVC has to recoop their money some way.

Here's another way to look at it.

My girls say, "Mom! We are never going to collect social security. The money we're paying into it is going to old people like you".

It's like that with QVC charging more money for an item.

They are a business. A business makes money. They can only make it if they are able to recoop it somewhere else.

I'm just saying it all makes sense.

I wouldn't mind paying the extra money they're charging if the clothes didn't all look alike and were so freaking boring.

I think QVC is more interested in QUANTITY rather than QUALITY.

They take a T-Shirt and put some fringe on it. Then they take a T-Shirt and put a tassle or two on it.

Get the idea? It's still a freaking T-Shirt.

Price increases result from increased price of cotton + Tariffs. The price of nothing has gone down.

Prices are going up everywhere, even in stores that do not sell clothes above a size 16. Likewise, sales happen in other stores that bring prices down for everyone, including plus sizes.

This post just feels like blaming plus-size people for increased prices without any evidence.

If you don't want to pay QVC prices, shop elsehwere. My friend loves Kohl's because she can use Kohl's cash during a sale and Kohl's credit card and save big. You may want to look into that. QVC doesn't offer a lot of true "sale" pricing, so you may want to check out places that do have frequent and real sales.

QVC comes into your home each day and shows you what they have to offer, which is a convenience you pay for. You can do the extra work of searching stores online or in-person and getting a better price if you don't want to pay the QVC prices.

I like shopping in b&m stores, even if it's online, because the stores typically have "sales" of 30% and usuallly more off along with free shipping, a concept that QVC doesn't seem to get.

Agreed. And some of the stores I love even have an "outlet" version of the store online where you can find deep discounts and clearance items.

I don't get where it is convenient. The website is iffy, and the tv presentations are getting obnoxious. I still shop here when they have an item that interests me and the price reflects the value, but it is no more convenient than any other online store, and sometimes less.

@Annabellethecat66I buy so few QVC clothes that I don't keep track of what prices used to be. In all of 2019, I bought just 5 garments -- and 3 of those were Spanx camisoles!

I do know prices where I shop locally have definitely gone up. I don't need much and that's good because I have close to no success at Macys and Kohl's and the discount stores. Most of my clothes now come from 2 Florida chains - one definitely pricey, one not so bad as long as I catch the brand I want on a sale day.

QVC's prices for what I want are a little more than one of those stores but a whole lot less than the other.
