Re: QVC Just Posted That Louis Dell'Olio Has Retired

His reasoning make a perfect sense. Still I don't see his line staying around long. QVC would rather well expensive junk fashions instead of classic designs from the likes of Louis and Bob Mackie!

@Caaareful Shopper   I edited my post when I realized my error in using you instead of she.  I know you did not post it, so I offer my apology to you since you read it before I corrected.

@Caaareful Shopper   Louis, very pointely, stated NOT to post it on the Forums.  Read it, it states it in what you posted!  It's very clear!  You ignored his wishes!

Calm down @Somertime , you are blaming me for something I did not do!  QVC posted the statement that Louis retired (which is not even 100% accurate).  It is public on QVC's Facebook page as of this morning.

I did not post Louis' Blog -- I hadn't even clicked on Louis' Blog, which QVC also included in their FB post for all to click.  Reading his Blog, it appears to me that Louis did not want his Blog posted on the forums -- I did not.

Save your scorn for someone else please, if you are so inclined.

@Caaareful Shopper   I wasn't referring to your post.  Someone else posted the entire blog twice.

I see that @NickNack .  I'm addressing my response to @Somertime who apparently did not realize I had nothng to do  with posting Louis' Blog here. All that can be directed to the other poster.

[ Edited ]

Louis and Bob Mackie both are gentlemen and the likes of which will never be repeated with their charm and mannerisms.  Both have ALWAYS designed upscale classy clothes.

I feel for Loius and would be TOTALLY LOST if I ever lost my husband.  I can relate very well to his closeness to his late beloved wife.  It is a once in a lifetime love that will never happen again.

I sent him a message on his blog awhile ago to comfort him.  God needed another angel so he chose her and Louis will see her again so all is not at loss.

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

it is about a 5 to 6 hour drive from Connecticut to qvc headquarters....one way. he always drives, but i am not sure why?

whether his words are posted here or not, they are all over facebook  (with links on his page, links on the qvc page, and links in many qvc groups) and his blog is an open site. i am not sure how he could have stopped it PLUS without knowing, so many people would be asking here "what happened to LDO?" it already began the other day when someone asked why he was not on the air.

hope he continues to enjoy designing and keeping everyone up to date via his blog and via live facebook chats. he will definitely be missed on air by his customers, his models, and the hosts.

Sadly He has never and will never get over the loss of Jaq.

His staying home and disconecting with people... his fans and customers... will not be a healthy thing.    It is a SAFE PLACE   but the  aloneness and solitude will not be healthy for him as he ages.

I feel so bad for him as he is a genuinely really nice person and is just very very sad.
