J328430 I just looked at the review of the Honora pearl show on overnight.
So....there is a choice of lengths in Ming pearls with the cheapest, shortest strand being approx. $1,600 - yes, the cheapest one. They go up in price depending on the length you order. And QVC is charging $5 S&H. Really? Remember all those high-end jewelry shows over the years when S&H was free on the high-priced jewelry?
Really? QVC expects me to spend, on this item, a mininum of $1600 and it won't pick up the S&H charge? Most stores have free S&H over a certain amount which at the most is $150 spent.
Really, QVC, is this a way to treat a customer willing to spend that much with you? Do you really have to squeeze out from the customer who is willing to buy this necklace another $5? If I were shopping for pearls, I'd say "the heck with QVC" and go to a local jewelry store.

If I were spending that kind of money on jewelry, another $5.00 wouldn't be a blip on my radar but I can see your point. The only jewelry I ever recall having no s/h was the Once in a Lifetime jewelry and I don't believe the s/h was free. I believe the screen said s/h was included which is different.
But I'd never spend that kind of money on jewelry from any shopping channel ever. I'd be visiting my locally owned jeweler.

Pearley
Buy your pearl necklace at Jewelry Television. They have free shipping & handling on pearl necklaces $1,000 and over but at HSN and Evine you have to pay shipping & handling also.

I'm having a hard time understanding what a $5 shipping charge has to do with what a product is valued at. Did you do the research and discover the necklace should sell for no more than $1,595.00? Or, does this necklace compare to $2,500.00, and QVC is offering a real deal, and they need for you to pick up that S&H tab? That would make your statement of "cheap" have a different meaning, wouldn't it?

@newname0 I'm not interested in buying a pearl necklace at all. I was looking at a ring on the review of the Honora show and noticed the necklace on the model so I checked it out. I just think that on an item that costly, QVC should pick up the S&H charge.

I disagree. And I would not purchase the necklace somewhere that is going to charge me S&H for it. I'd rather go to a B&M store. And I am not cheap, though that is what you are implying.

I am not going to argue with the jewelry price, but I absolute agree about the shipping.
If you are spending $100 or more, you should get free shipping. Most places do at LEAST that and many places give you free shipping if you spend even less, like $50 or $25. I don't expect QVC to offer the same kind of customer experience as Nordstrom, but even small businesses offer free shipping if you spend $100 or more.

It's only about jewelry? This at least the second thread about this by this one. But why not the same outrage for the clothing line? Hey why isn't it ever free shipping? Or "included" s/h?
$3 for clothes when you buy quite a bit adds up and not always a break on multiple items.
An expensive piece of jewelry may have more insurance hence the higher rate. It's no need to accuse the Q of being cheap. Doesn't matter if it's expensive....it's their prerogative and yours not to buy it. Easy peasy.
