QVC Hosts, Now vs. 10+ Years Ago

Does anyone else feel this way?

10+ years ago, you had your favorite hosts to be sure, but if the items being sold interested you, or even if you were just looking to half-tune out with Q on in the backgound, you would watch no matter who was hosting.

Today, you turn on the Q and at least half the time, you shut it right off no matter what is being sold simply b/c of who is hosting.

To me, the Q has changed from - "here are our products, being presented by some pleasant, mild-mannered people," to "here are some really loud, hyper people who feel the need to overshare, and by the way there are some products to see as well."

@Jake1316   Agree!  10 years ago I watched.  No longer do so.  The focus has switched from the products to the hosts.  I'm gone.

The world has changed a lot in 10 years.  For those of us who are older, some changes we love, some we avoid.

For me, I love having more things delivered or available for pickup.

Re: QVC Hosts, Now vs. 10+ Years Ago

I don't leave QVC on for background noise.  None of the hosts bothered me 10 years go or today.

Everyone has a different personality and not everyone is tuned in to what I like.

I have learned with age to tolerate everyone even if their   "style" is not to my liking.

You can't change people, but you can change your reaction to them. Why get upset and complain?  The person you think is hyper and loud might be your neighbor's favorite host.

Turn down the volume, change the channel or take a walk. It's not worth the frustration.  There is a variety of hosts and not every one of them will appeal to you.

No, I don't feel the same as you do.

@Jake1316

I don't think ANY host is acting any other way than Mgt. wants them to!!!

They are told how to 'sell', what to say, how to act OR at the very least...allowed to be that way on air.

I felt the 2 hosts recently dismissed were both VERY mild and calm in their presentations.

The majority of the ones that remain (not PJD, MBR, JB, LW) are all manic because that is what TPTB WANT it to be like.

@Jake1316 I NEVER have gotten attached to a person on TV selling stuff.

I got a kick out of Mike Rowe and really liked Kathy Levine but never thought of them as "famiy" or "friends".
