It doesn't really matter.

All of the dollars go into the great big Qurate money pot.

They don't separate it out.  Shareholders benefit either which way.

watching QVC and complaining.

Why do you?

As a matter of fact, I only watch Q for minutes at a time except for jewelry shows which I enjoy. While I'm not a fan of the yelling and shouting, I don't complain about hosts and keep watching.

I find HSN is just the opposite of QVC. Tho, there is no party like atmosphere with boisterous behavior, the hosts are boring, often unprepared & just don’t look good in clothing presented. I’ve also found quality is poor on items I’ve purchased in the past & very little variety re to products/styles/vendors.

I only watch QVC when interested in a particular product or fashion line & host behavior doesn’t bother me unless over the top like the over 50 gig. I watch HSN rarely & don’t purchase anything at all.

My opinion is based purely on my own experiences with both networks. I rarely return an item to QVC, usually just for sizing or errors.

why one watches one or the other is of no matter to me

thankfully there is a variety for all, since we are not the same and like different things

i am happy folks find something they like and enjoy it

HSN has the best cooking shows......with Curtis Stone!  He actually cooks while presenting! And his products are great!

And I'm usually "glued to the TV" on HSN's craft show days (another one coming up this coming Tuesday).

For QVC, I mainly shop on line, checking out Items Recently on Air.

And, FWIW, I can't believe they brought back Mally.

I stopped watching HSN years ago, although when going through channels I might look at it for a minute. I find they are a low class shopping channel. When I tried shopping at HSN I returned most items for their poor quality so, of course, I stopped buying. I find they give me the feeling of desperation when selling. If I remember correctly some of their hosts talk in a monotone and have no personality at all.

I started with HSN, then started watching QVC, then both. Now watch Q2 the most, then HSN, then QVC the least. It just depends what is on each channel that interest me.

I'm one that has to have the TV on whether I'm watching or not and it's usually one of these Woman LOL

Regarding Mally, she MUST bring in the numbers/sales, or she would be gone.  QVC is only about sales, period.  The hosts are told how to act to generate sales.  No matter what they say, they are just trying to get you to buy.

Years ago, I was a heavy HSN shopper due to one brand of clothing sold there, Carolyn Strauss.   This was mainly in the 90's.  I LOVED those clothes.  That line has been gone a long time.  Since then, I've shopped and watched QVC.  I do feel like the clothing on HSN looks very low quality and not anything I would wear any longer.  One example is the G by Guiliana line.  They also seem to sell low end products across the board.
