I’m noticing so many crossover shows (Vince Cumuto & Clark’s later this month). The repetition seems pointless. Saturating two channels (five if you add HSN2, Q2 and Beauty IQ) with the same products is overkill.
I know financially, it’s a chance for someone...anyone...to see the product on one of the channels and make a purchase. There’s also the point that seeing four channels running constant infomercial type shows could cause many to find other tv networks to watch.

I don't know how they keep track of who's coming and who's going because I can't.

I guess that will depend on the economics of having five channels. I've wondered if shopping channels pay to be carried on cable systems and over-the-air, or, conversely, if cable systems and broadcasters pay shopping channels just as they pay other content providers..

It seems thus far that QVC is using the HSN distribution channel to move the products it wants over there....including Dooney, Kitchenaid , Ripka and IT, in addition to the ones you mention. I don't think that I've seen movement the other way;has there been?
I think there is merit to controlling as many different outlets as possible, even if the products are redundant. Not everyone watches both HSN and QVC and really, I think capturing channel surfers works to a degree.
Of course, QVC can now control the product line-up on HSN since they purchased and control it.

I like HSN the way it is, despite being owned by Quarate, who also owns QVC.. I love the craft shows, in particular and the special shipping deals that they provide. I often flip back and forth.

All I know is HSN is looking more like Q. They sure have raised their prices so they can keep their stuff. I'm only buying what I want or need & will buy where I can find the best price.

@ValuSkr I’m not sure, but my cable co. (SPECTRUM) does not carry Beauty IQ and Q2 is not in HD. The screen/printing is so small even w/ my glasses it’s a strain to watch.

@Johnnyeager Oh, Strivectin went to HSN, too.

@Chi-town girl I’m happy I don’t have the final say, either.
