You have been passed by, and that's just the way progress works.

That way goes the game.

Don't underestimate people. I think everyone knows about influencers and what they do.

Some just choose to be more independent thinkers and decision makers and not rely on stars or others to make their purchases.

YES of course we all make our own independent decision…

BUT I ❤️ listening to my Favorite Influencers and getting their opinions and their personal experiences with an item.

Sorta like the same thing here with posters! 🙄 🥴

@CalminHeart   I understand what you're saying.  But how do you account for the success of the QVC hosts?  The only reason they aren't called Influencers is because they're on TV.  But they are doing the exact same job.

David Venable announces a new ITKWD product and his hoardes of loyal fans buy it before it's even presented.  How is Shawn so popular? Alberti? Amy Stran? People watch more of their shows, presumably, and at least open to what they're selling. The most popular hosts have developed a fan base that watch their shows in wonderful anticipation, and buy, or at least watch.

Influencers just happen to be on social media, but they do the same thing.  They've become very good at engaging with their audience, and have amassed thousands or millions of followers.

So is not being influenced about the word they call them?  If they are good sales people, and are engaging, shoppers are more apt to watch them and at least be exposed to the product.

Perhaps they should have been called "Credible Sales Person."  Doesn't have the same ring

[ Edited ]

Yes indeed the most popular show hosts are absolutely "influencers."

It's the perfect term.  Those influencers who successfully cultivated a following via social media platforms are no different than a TV personality,  and are even more popular in many, many cases.

For example, David may have 500,000 Facebook followers,  but a successful valuable social media personality has millions and millions.

It's a great coup and strategy for The QVC Group to harness this built-in following and viewership!

Re: QVC Group CEO: We are an ENTERTAINMENT/Social Media Business

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned.

Just occured to me that maybe this is what Jen Coffey will be doing eventually.  She did say we'd be seeing her again...

They could be slowly rolling out the influencers/hosts and eventually shut down TV.

Again sorry if this has already been suggested

Re: QVC Group CEO: We are an ENTERTAINMENT/Social Media Business

Social media booming, huh?  I saw 400 viewers on Youtube watching QVC the other night.  Wow, how much money did QVC make on purchases?

This new direction is based on decreasing TV viewers, but how long have we been telling QVC ad nauseum why we are no longer watching.

Higher prices, lower quality.  Similar and same old products across the board regardless of the designer or vendor.

TV is not going anywhere in my house.  Do I believe influencers on YouTube, Facebook, and Tik Tok, are beating on QVC's door?  Ha!

Just like QVC's switching to Millennials.  How did that go?

@Foxxee 🤗

I must have been one of the 400 then! How exciting is that! 😉

I mostly shop and buy off the Q using YouTube and this is why!

It makes looking up past videos on an item their selling easier and then I can make a better decision if I want to buy that item or not. 🤣

I think streaming ROCKS !! ❤️

Some people like what hosts do and say. Some don't.

One of Q's marketing plans is to get viewers to feel like family.

They aren't my friends or aquantances. I'll never know them. I wish everyone well but their stories and personal product lines don't motivate me to buy anything.

It's hard for me to imagine being interested enough in hosts that I'd follow them or be motivated to buy their own product lines.

Big corporations never do anything intending to be altruistic or to be like family. They do things for sales, tax write offs, profits.

The QVC Group CEO made it clear that within 2-3 years the QVC of today will no longer exist.

An investor meeting yesterday; I listened in.

The QVC of today will be gone completely within 2-3 years, if not sooner.

Social Media! Social Media!  Social Media!  We are an ENTERTAINMENT/RETAIL HYBRID.

60 Billion QVC minutes viewed across all social media platforms.

The linear TV/cable distribution model is unsustainable given drops in viewership.  Views across social media platforms have exploded.  Broadcasts won't disappear overnight,  but will diminish as investment drops.

Influencers rule;  studio production will disappear.   9000+ Social media influencers have requested relationships with QVC Group.  QVC will provide production space, support, technology to social media personalities promoting products.

The large expensive Studio Park sets are being subdivided for the small screen:  a set for Facebook, a set for YouTube,  a set for Instagram, a set for QVC+ Streaming and so on.

$100 million cost reduction as production savings are shifted.  That's a lot of host salary and benefits.   Explains recent host disruption I think, so expect more soon.

100+ Celebrity driven products will grow and grow.  Celebrities and influencers are crucial.

This is what it is and this is The QVC Group future.

Anyone who purchases through social media platforms really have no concept of how digital transactions can be hacked and leveraged for massive theft - worse yet sold and resold as marketing leads.  This brings new meaning to  spam 24/7.  This post reporting future plans of QVC explains a lot - staff terminations over the past 18months, customer service work from home soon to transform into contract offshore services, the poor quality systems whether fulfillment failures/timin, inability to cancel orders even within 30-90 minutes of being placed along with escalation requirements to cancel by mgmt that take up to 3 days and never end up being canceled.  QVC clearly has the iceberg on the radar and is about to jump ship.  Just remember only naive consumers would use FB, Google, Spotify or other major platform wallets.  Your transaction data is worth gold and is sold over and over again.  As for the 9000 influencers - folks who receive complimentary merchandise to provide presentation and reviews - watch the influencers on Amazon and tell me if you'd by from them.  I'll be clearing off  EZ pays and reconsidering further purchasing from QVC.

Re: QVC Group CEO: We are Social Media

Quarte Group will not be producing media nor will vendor sponsors be a part of things.  Influencers will record product presentations/reviews at their own expense Quarte will only be providing the physical space.  Influencers receive complimentary product and often compensation for production costs and then commission on product sales.
