Good luck to the Qurate. Pick your influencers carefully.
@granddi But you do realize that Skechers is not a QVC brand. Skechers sells heavily on their own website, their own retail stores, and yes, all over social media. They even have a huge following on TikTok and Instagram, as well as plenty of Influencers selling them as well.
Plus, they sell a huge array of styles that are not what you see here for the core QVC demographic. They have a lot of much more expensive, on-trend styles that are quite popular.
That's how they got to #3. Social media, and a broad product line-up for a wider group of shoppers is how retail works.
That's what I mean by QVC is a little late to the party. Those same big brands you see on QVC have been using influencers on social media platforms for years:
Lug
Vionic
Barefoot Dreams
Clarks
Ryka
Muk Luks
First Aid Beauty
Philosophy
This list goes on & on. They ALL sell using Influencers on social media.
My point was that Sketchers has built a company by NOT chasing a market for which their products do not appeal.
Of course they have a social media presence. And yes they have influencers (Martha Stewart eg). And yes I know they are not a Q brand.
I don't care what Qurate decides to do with QVC. When I get up in the morning my life won't be any different.

Influencers will eventually wear out their welcome. Young people are changing--fewer are driving, many do not drink, and they are waking up to many other things. Some of the older posters here just think they are in the know and understand what is going on, but actually are wrong about many things. QVC can make all the changes they want...

Skechers has built their company by offering products that traverse a much wider demographic than the core QVC demo. That was my point. The only market they have not chased is kids. Skechers has sneakers, boots, and fashion for all ages -- teens to 90's, and also men. But of course, QVC only presents a fraction of what Skechers offers. QVC sells to QVC shoppers. Skechers sells to everyone.
Now QVC is trying to get a share of that "everyone" market. The only way to do that is to broaden out and sell on social media.
Also, I would not call Martha Stewart an Influencer. She's a celebrity spokesperson. That's not the same thing. Influencers were everyday people on social media who started out talking about products, and then got opportunities to sell them and get paid for it. If they're really, really good at it, they gain lots of followers. Sound familiar, doesn't it. Just like hosts on QVC.

@Icegoddess I agree as small businesses are asking for cash or check because of the CC fees. Granted I in a small town so that may differ. My Dentist, Veterinarian, Hair Dresser, Small engine shop and many cafes and restaurants to name a few I have seen signs regarding paying 3%-5% more. Someone just wrote a letter to the editor in our weekly paper regarding this practice.

Just wanted to let you know I get local channels & many cable channels by streaming live tv on Hulu. You CAN record shows, movies. However, you don't have to record shows as you can stream them if you forgot to watch something. Go to the app for the channel you want, search for the show & stream. Can go back weeks, years on some things so no need to record as much if you can stream.

Several years ago when I still worked, a co worker came to me all excited. Oprah just released her favorite things! I said and. . .? She said now I can buy a watch (and she did)! I was astonished that she couldn't buy something without Oprah telling her what to get. Oprah, with her favorite things, may be one of the most important & original influencers.

I just saw former Q host, Courtney Cason, on "Inside Edition" at the end of Thursday's broadcast selling items thru Inside Shop. She has been on the last few weeks.

There are several plans you need to look at their website. They have plans where you just stream with or without ads which are cheapest. To get LIVE tv its $82.99 a month with ads for Hulu, Disney & ESPN+. Its $95.99 without ads.
With LIVE tv, you can watch your local channels, national news channels, many cable channels (Bravo, TNT, Animal Planet, TCM, National Geographic, Paramount, PBS, FX, FXM, NFL & many, many more). You can also stream thousands of old & new & original shows. I think you have to wait til the next day to stream the currently airing shows.
Check the website for channels & pricing tiers.
You can record shows & movies too but they only store for 9 months.
Watching LIVE tv is just like watching cable but without the nonsense channels. You can cancel anytime or switch plans. Its not perfect - buffering happens & its hard to quickly surf but, to me, its no different than cable but without boxes, cords, antennas, firesticks, Roku, special remotes, etc.
Don't know if they have a free trial as many of them do. Google it to see if there's a free trial.
