Re: QVC Casting Call for new hosts?

I feel they are getting too big for their britches.  I think staying with one main channel and perfecting that channel and the hosts is the way that would be most beneficial to them.  JMO.

I think one of the reasons for Q2 is it is the place they put the new hosts so as to have them gain experience and perfect their presentations. Some never do and never make it out of there. Years ago when QVC still broadcast live shows 24 hours a day, new hosts could be put in those early morning time slots for the same reason...and their flops and fails would not be seen by the masses. Q2 also provides an alternative lineup of shows in case viewers are not interested currently in what's being presented on the main channel. Although personally I find everything about Q2 an inferior offering, it's likely not leaving.

Re: QVC Casting Call for new hosts?

We need to remember no one is irreplaceable and there are a couple of hosts who need to be shown the door.  Keeping "dead wood" on the payroll is not helping the company's image, bottom line or customer confidence.

And every employee has a mind of their own and goals to fulfill, which gives them the right to change careers within the first year or two if not satisfied with the job!

I applaud Stacey and TJ for moving on to other positions which interest them more, fit into their schedules better, or fulfill their desire to help others or continue their learning processes in life!

They certainly are not the first: Mary Nelsen, of Omaha, left to spend time with her family since her husband was on the golf circuit and she missed her mom and in-laws. She was an outstanding host with many interesting side-lines she often did at their home. One of the former hosts I miss the most! She returned to radio in Omaha and is still an organized, kind, sweet person doing DIY projects in her spare time with all those tools! Prettiest smile and pleasant personality ever.

It surprised me how some hosts don't even have a College Degree and have never sought further schooling or other goals in life. QVC would be a very boring life without other interests, a full family life, a robust social life, volunteering committments in the community, weekly activites with your spouse, and an active Church life.

Working for a shopping channel isn't a life!

I see Nancy returning to the schedule on Friday, May 24th.

(Now that host names have returned to the guide!)

Birklady, very well thought out and well said! Mary Nelson was awesome! She also had the bluest eyes and beautiful and soothing tone to her voice, besides her smile you mentioned. I thought Mary would last the longest out of her class, but its Courtney Khondabi who is the last one left from that group of 5 women. Mary, Katie McGee and Sharon Faetsh were 3 of mine and my family's favorites.

I’m sorry that doesn’t make any sense.. 🤔

Nobody’s job (whatever you do) should be their life. QVC is no different.

And having a college degree isn’t always a guarantee for success either. I’m always impressed by the ones who are highly successful and even extremely wealthy that don’t have that piece of paper. Hard work with a passion for what you do is admirable. 🤗🤗🤗

Re: QVC Casting Call for new hosts?

I believe most companies are always interesting in new talent. My company is always looking for new people for various positions. Who knows what direction qvc is headed. I think the fun is waiting and watching, I once thought I would make a great show host and I had a few interviews and thought...no this isn't for me.

Hi San Antonio Girl, you are very pretty by the way and could host for QVC, if you ever desired to. As Trix just said that was hilarious with the Nancy Yoon housewives joke!!

Thank you for the kind words @MrsBrianne . Smiley Happy
