@Etoile308 wrote:@Icegoddess, if you have a smart TV why would you need a Roku or a Firestick?
If your TV doesn't come with specific apps that you want pre installed you just need to download them onto your TV. The apps are free and many provide free viewing.
Streaming services like the two you mentioned require a paid subscription for On Demand streaming but you don't need a Roku for that.
@Etoile308I don't know about other apps. I just know that some of the streaming services say they are only compatible with Smart TVs after a certain Model year and mine is before that. Therefore, I'm not willing to sign up/pay for one that I'm not sure I can use straight "out of the box" so to speak (as much as DH would like to).
You have to Click on those Smart TV's * that it says it's compatible with. If there's a little start next to it you need to click on it and read, That little star next to something always means something. And they never tell you what you need to do to make it compatible, and there's no way that I know of to talk to a real person. At least with DirecTV, I can eventually get to a real person. Oh, and even the DirecTV Streaming service has a little star next to my Samsung Smart TV too.

@CalminHeart. Exactly! If you don't like the high prices now, just wait. It's estimated the average household will pay about $2,000 more per year due to tariffs.
@Kachina624 My guess is closer to at least $3,000...
Tariffs are just one aspect of what we'll all be losing financially.
So many folks just don't realize what they signed up for yet...so to speak.
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it all...
My plan is Jan 1st I'll be stopping all clothes/shoes/accessories purchases. I'm getting the last of my fun in now til the end of the year.
DH & I will be working on other budget adjustments to make up for all the losses ahead.
Sad times coming down the pike.
@Susan Louise. I fear you are right. The situation has created a lot of anxiety and worry about our future.

@Etoile308, it isn't always that simple. My living room LG can't run Paramount+ but my bedroom TV (also LG) can so it was a simple download.
There are other apps that will not work on my living room TV so I use either my Roku or Firestick.
As a side note, the living room TV is older than the bedroom TV but not significantly older.

A business journal reporting QC having problems covering costs, and will be streaming on numerous platforms including but not limited to Tik Toc, Hulu, and YouTube Tv.
Comcast has dropped Msnbc, cnbc, E! and a few others that are not providing revenue. Cable is dying.
I'm having a new tv installed. I'm dropping Comcast and using YOUTUBE TV where I can stream exactly what I want at a fraction of the cost.
QVC on cable will be going the way of all streaming down the road.

I feel exactly the opposite. I'm excited and no longer have worries.

I think one reason that linear broadcast viewership and shopping is down can be attributed to many of the complaints long time shoppers have voiced here.
Until some of those snafus have been corrected all the social media growth in the world will be short term. I suspect those using social media outlets will be less patient and less tolerant than those long time customers who have stuck with them all these many years.
The storytelling, yowza??? Perhaps they could benefit with a professional writer. One who could actually impart product information and make the spiel engaging.
And as a dose of reality, amidst all the tap dancing, Qurate stock closed today at an all time low of .36 cents. Almost a .10 cent drop today alone. Do they consider a reverse split? Are other financial considerations on the horizon? Next year should be very interesting.

@Etoile308 OHHHH, but how could we ever not want to hear Jane constantly tell us during storytime that she particpates in marathons now? I mean, its not like she tells us this every presentation! Also, how her daughters Deidre and Cara are in theatre. Did you know that?
I am not sure if everyone knew, so Jane can tell us more about that and her Disney trips with them, since their will be increased "STORYTELLING" Excuse me while I go stick my head in the freezer and ask my kiddos to shut it tightly, LOL!
