@They Call Me MR Wilkes   I'm sure that will e much to the chagrin of those praying for QVC to go under, why I will never know

Some posters have been dancing on the grave of The QVC Group for years, salivating with anticipation.   It's a team sport!

Very, very odd and somewhat twisted, considering they take advantage of a free QVC forum!

I'm dancing as fast I can!

Re: QURATE Officially Changes Name

No matter what the name, it won't keep them in business unless they make some major changes.  What they are doing isn't workiing at this time.

@brandiwine    I'm curious.  What advice do you have for them since yiu're so sure they will not survive.

I never said they won't survive.  I said they need to make changes.  They continue to lose money.  I joined QVC when they first changed from CVN (I think that was the first company name).  Back then they went out and found products that you couldn't find anywhere else.  Things like the No Mess Dough Disc.  They carried beautiful, quality jewelry.  Their skincare lines were well priced and high quality.  Yves Roche, Victoria Principal, and Hydron for instance.  They had really nice, reasonably priced clothing.  Many unique gift ideas.  Today it's Dyson, expensive pre-made food, and so much of the clothing is designed for sitting on your couch.  These cycle over and over.  Hosts were informative and knew the products.  Today most of them are loud, pushy, and speak of things that have nothing to do with the products.  I rarely purchase anything anymore, and I have quit watching.  I don't need to know very personal information about hosts lives.  Teddixat, what do you think will happen if they continue to lose money?

Re: QURATE Officially Changes

@brandiwine  I personally think they will survive.   I think they will continue to make the changes necessary.   As far as old vendors, things change.  It's the way of the world.  I used to love Hydron [roducts, but Harvey the owner of Hydron was involved in some shady practices.  I remember reading about him.   I don't have the answers to your question but companies make decisions on sales.  Maybe some of those products didn't sell well. I'm now they did showcase a lot of new products but maybe those vendors couldn't produce the quantities needed.  A lot of startup businesses don't make it.

im sure the merger of HSN  and QVc headquarters is another cost cutting measure.

a lot of people depend on QVC for their living.  I hope they survive so all those folks cam keep their jobs.

Re: QURATE Officially Changes Name

Interesting the name change. I always thought that Qurate sounded more like "karate" and not like "curate" so I guess the QVC is easier to remember and pronounce. That makes sense if you want people to know your brand...why put verbal roadblocks up if you don't have to?

I think QVC is going to need all the help it can get as those U.S. tariffs on imports is going to cause inflation and customers will be wary of the economy and a recession. After all, most everything QVC and HSN sells is made in China including clothes and shoes and those prices will have to go up everywhere including this company. Customers are also spending discretionary money on clothes and makeup and will cut spending on these items first.

I also think that The QVC Group will survive,  but in a different form.

The transformation will take some time,  but in a few years it could be completely different than the cable driven broadcasts of yesterday.

@They Call Me MR Wilkes  Thanks for the data!

As a qvc shopper, I do want to know where the company is headed.

It may be making a profit, but declining cash flow, sales, revenue, income, customers are indicators of a company that is likely to fail.  These are alarming when there is so much inflation.  "Profit" is an accounting number, not a sign that a company is healthy.  Hope their growth strategy succeeds.

Other more successful retailers are projecting declining sales for the upcoming year, so qvc's outlook is probably not good.

I would like to see the video presentations with models survive.  That is why I shop here.  And of course if they sell products I want, and I hope my favorites return.  It seems to me like the product mix is not what it was.  Not enough variety and value.

The reverse stock split was needed because the company was about to be delisted due to the low per share value.

Re: QURATE Officially Changes Name

@NYCLatinaMe   *this is all my humble opinion, so I could be dead wrong, but I've always had a knack for great instincts, but who knows*

Video presentations = COOKED!! QVC prob hardly has any young demographic, unless its for food shows. I would say their avg viewers are middle and upper ages age 40-80. If QVC leaves the TV, its going to be game over and they will dissolve. They MUST stay the current format, as HSN will eventually be GOODBYE.

For NOW, HSN is teamed with QVC, but lets face it they are basically going to dissolve. Whatever they try to do here in 3rd qtr might last a yr or two, but HSN will sisolve and QVC will take them fully under their umbrella. Anyone who works with HSN will eventually become part of QVC and by end of 2026 I would think HSN is POOF!!

If QVC tries to go this streaming route as they have all these shows right now that I imagine hardly get much traffic, but if QVC goes that route and leaves the TV than consider QVC as a business to exist as long as MySpace & Napster. In other words, "I'm leaving on a jetplane, don't know when I'll be back again" NEVER!!
