I have purchased many food items from the Q and enjoyed so many of them.

Just like the grocery store I buy what I want.

I would not get the cake but it sure looked good.  It would go to waste and do not have that big of a get together any more.  People also do not want the calories.   I would love the red velvet one.  My favorite.

But like many I would not spend that much but I am sure it is very good.  My craving can be satisfied at a cheaper price or a slice too.

Enjoy you purchase.   Special gift for sure.

If you go to Junior's flagship Brooklyn restaurant, their 10" chocolate layer cake in the restaurant costs $65.50 to buy and carry out on your own.

QVC has incorporated the shipping and priced it at $70.

I see nothing wrong with QVC's price for that cake.

Butter is over $4 still in my area.....even at Aldi's.   Eggs have come down just a little.

Baking anything from scratch costs a whole lot more these days!

Much qvc food is special occasion or gift food shipped by air.  It's not intended to compete with what you'd find at Safeway or Costco.

Macaroni, chicken breasts, fish fillets, coffee cake are " special occasion? "

Not where I shop.

Of course not everything.  But how about prime rib roasts, Langostino lobser claws, carving hams, whole turkeys, beef wellington, etc.  There's something for a lot of different tastes and budgets.

I won't buy from them anymore. On air they make it look so good but when you get the food it isn't what you thought. Certainly not worth the price.

It's not that hard to bake a cake from scratch. I enjoy it. If there's a delicious recipe for dessert, I can make it.

Cakes at the best bakeries in my area run $30-any dollar amount depending on what's ordered.

I like to buy local.

@QVCkitty1.  I don't see anyone getting defensive.   Some people don't seem to understand that shopping for food here is not the same as grocery shopping.  There are plenty of people buying it.
