I see many complaints about Q clothing prices, but nothing about $70 for a chocolate

cake?

I didn't see the cake and can't speak to its quality, but I can speak to bakery prices.  Here in New York, at a good bakery, it's hard to find a cake for less than $50.  Add in shipping and there you are.

Sure, you can find bakery cakes for less.  But if what they are selling is a top quality cake, I am not shocked at all.

I agree some items are out of sight.  Another reason I don't buy food items.

Much qvc food is special occasion or gift food shipped by air.  It's not intended to compete with what you'd find at Safeway or Costco.

I have no problem with posters questioning the Q's pricing. Whether I agree or not they have a right to their opinion. People get so defensive about their purchases.

If people aren't seeing complaints or snide comments about the price of food items, then I wonder if they regularly read the board on Wednesdays, or anytime during the Holiday Gourmet shows.

I think people get defensive because there can be snark, implying that customers are fools for purchasing food through the Q.

Sure, we can go to Walmart, or Costco, etc. to get a cake any day, and it will fill its purpose, but if it's a special occasion or holiday we might want something different.

fast food is much more costly

eating out in most reg restaurants is more costly
