Q; please be honest with us.

I admire the Q for bringing a wide variety of products to us each week. It is convenient to search for clothing, cookware, electronics, and more on one site. However, I wish the Q would respect their customers enough to be honest when a clothing line is being fazed out. It appears that George Simonton and Liz Claiborne are two recent examples of this. (Do you remember others?) In the May insider there is only one Liz show during the entire month. Please, Q execs, be honest with us and keep us informed when product lines are leaving.

If they did that, posters would then complain about the 'hard sell' techniques of the show hosts!  It  would be  another version of 'buy it now it won't be re ordered.... or 'it's selling out now' ..etc

Re: Q; please be honest with us.

I don't see anything wrong with being honest. I was watching when Mary Beth made the announcement that Linda Davies woud be the new rep for Northern Nights, and the reason given was that this position would mesh with Linda's quest to be a realtor outisde of her duties at QVC. In reality, it seems as if it was because the LC line is being phased out. I have never purchased from that line, but I did enjoy watching the occasional show. So why not just say that LC was being discontinued? To avoid unpleasantness? We all know that QVC hates that!

Instead of the clothing lines that have been around for many years, we are inundated with trendy lines that will probably be here and gone, like the QVC version of Halston and C. Wonder. If you look at the clearance fashion section, there are many pieces from lines that I barely remember, 'celebrity' lines that came and went in a blink of an eye.

Simonton is gone. Graver and Denim and Co. will be here forever along with Isaac and the ever present Lori Goldstein.  I wonder if Linea will survive?

I think both Issac and Lori Goldstein will be phased out.  No loss there.... anything would be an improvement.   We  are stuck forever with Graver and Denim and Co. because Q owns them outright..... which is very depressing....

I think they want the consumers to consume everything that is still full price first.  If they announced the "death" of a line, people would wait for the Q's "clearance" prices before ordering.

I don't shop the other shopping channels.  Do they make announcements when lines are phased out?

Re: Q; please be honest with us.

I agree! I was so upset when they phased out George Simonton's clothing line. He really designed clothes with women in mind; stylish, feminine and comfortable. I'm tired of LOGO and Susan Graver's "liquid knit" clothing. I also loved the Claiborne line. Denim & Co. is fine for comfy wear, but the quality has gone down. Don't just surprise the buyers by phasing a line out.....

Re: Q; please be honest with us.

My thoughts exactly! How many "designers" (famous names) like the Kardashians, Jennifer Hudson, Cheryl Burke, etc. came to the Q with their new line, and in a blink - no one bought them, so they were out. Linea is the last of the good lines, as well as Quacker. I'm not enthralled by Halson's line, nor the new one that emulates it. LOGO all looks the same, as does Graver's liquid knits. I guess it comes down to the bottom line of their profit. How sad.
