I actually watched an hour or so of Or Paz jewelry on QVC. They have some beautiful pieces, and if I hadn't recently done shopping with some friends, I would be tempted to buy some Or Paz. I especially liked the gold design hammered ring, and the textured cuff bracelet. I think both were sold out, anyway.

Bella is so cute; I didn't know there was an Alamo cat. When I lived in Houston I took a trip to San Antonio to visit the Alamo. I enjoyed the Riverwalk, but somehow expected more from the Alamo. It just seemed so small compared to what I imagined it to be. Overall, though, San Antonio is a beautiful city.

**************************************************************

@teganslaw  HEY TEGAN --Well at the last minute I went over to my DS's house and missed the Or Paz Show---the only decent show of the weekend!!! Oh well, but I did check the items on air and they did have some different and interesting designs.  I did like the spinner rose ring and it sounds like the hammered ring and cuff bracelet were nice too.  I didn't end going on line and buying anything though....

As for the Alamo cats.....I was SHOCKED to learn of them myself after living here all these years.  The only cat I heard of was about a cat that was accidently killed at the battle of the Alamo, and there was supposed to be a memorial plague to honor the poor kitty.   But not the "hospitality cats" that have welcomed guests since the 1980's.....

And yes I agree with your assessment of the Alamo. There are just a few relics, nothing like what was portrayed in the PeeWee Herman movie, and there is no basement!!!---LOL.  They have expanded it a bit, courtesy of singer Phil Collins, who was fascinated with the story, purchased and donated some additional historic items.  Personally, I think the Spanish Governor''s Palace and the other Missions offer more to see.  The River Walk is nice especially during Fiesta time and at Christmas......

With all the hoopla about Russell Wilson requesting a HUGE contract, I bet your glad that the Colts locked up Andrew Luck through the 2016 season---I can only imagine what the QB market will be if Wilson gets what he wants....yes he's been to 2 Super Bowls and 2 Pro-Bowls, but a lot of the Seahawks success goes back to their defense and their running back too......I can't wait for the NFL season to start!!!

Have a good week! Take care!

hey Spurt, Saturday was a bit of a washout weather wise but fortunately all my plans were for indoors.

I've been smiling at your tagline about animals at the end and all the kitty photos.  As I type this, my Ella is laying on my chest.  Fortunately she is not a large kitty.  It does pose a few problems with typing on the computer though but being tucked under my chin whenever I allow it has alwys been her preferred spot.  I'm happy that it is a reasonably cool evening otherwise wearing my fur collar would be somewhat uncomfortable.

Her sister is upstairs laying on top of the dvr.  I have not tried bathing either of them.  Wiping them off with a wet cloth makes enough of a rucus.

@GinaV24   Hi GINA even if Saturday's weather didn't cooperate, any indoor plans NOT involving QVC is a SUCCESS!!!

LOL---Oh I can just picture Ella laying on your chest while you try to type on the computer or tucked under your chin---she sounds like a real sweetheart!!!  And you said her sister is on top of the DVR---cats do seem to like electronics don't they Cat Very Happy

The ony recent bath time my 2 cats have experienced is when I rescued Puddin, who was a feral and a neighbor was being mean to her, anyway, when I took her into be spade, the Vet's office bathed her before the procedure, wish I had been there to witness that....I can only imagine.....

My kitties got me into a bit of a pickle yesterday----I was working from home, and went to get another cup of coffee and heard a big crash, and both cats that had been out on the patio came tearing into the house.....so I went out there to see what happened and was met by a swarm of wasps.....I got bit and quickly escaped back into the house.  It appears in their attempt to get at one of my container plants to munch on they knocked over a decorative birdhouse that was sitting on a small table---and unbeknown to either me or the cats, wasps had decided to make it their home....I read on the internet that you should wait until evening or earlly morning when the wasps are asleep before you attempt to remove the nests/wasps....So I made sure I wore protective clothing put somethng over the hole and scooped the birdhouse into a large garbage bag and disposed of the wasps and birdhouse.....Boy those kitties got a scolding because they've gotten into trouble about chewing on that one plant, but like a friend told me, well at least they alerted you to the wasps.....Cats do make life interesting....

Hugs to Ella and her DS.....

Hi Spurt:  Every week I look forward to your "weekend program reviews", thinking

that it will be impossible for you to top the previous week.  But somehow each

new week is funnier than the last!  How do you continue to be so clever??!!

The little dog with the gym shoes and the cat sleeping on top of the sheep are

priceless!  You should compile all the weeks and put them in a book.  Do you

think David V. could sell it for you on the Q?

Our weekend was rainy and rather cold for this time of year - not much of summer

so far.  I actually spent some time watching HSN for the first time.  The hosts

do a good job of describing the items without becoming frantic, and I like the

camera work that focuses on the items more than the set displays.  At one point

switched over to the Q - Angel was on with Jacque.  They looked like they were

so far away, and the item description to the left of the screen looked so small.

Also, lots of overhead shots which was weird - what do the tops of models'

heads have to do with Quacker Factory?  Anyway, I may start watching more of HSN....Thanks again for all your efforts to make us laugh!  Sue

@Sue in cincinnati.....HI SUE......Thank you so much for your continued support and kind words......I don't think the book would sell well, not many people would want to relive QVC's BORING weekend programming, despite those cute animal pics I have found.   Cat Wink

In the past I used to think how professional and informative the QVC productions were, and how amateurish HSN's were....but my my times have certainy changed.....now I think they have traded places.

Glad I could give you a laugh---take care---

Love kitties, love YOUR kitties, and - as a former San Antonio resident - I wish Bella had been there when we lived there! Smiley LOL

@beach-mom  Hi BEACHMOM---Greetings to a former San Antonian resident. Glad you like the kitty photos.Cat Very Happy... I've lived in San Antonio since I was 8, and I never knew there have been numerous Alamo Cats---as many times as we've taken relatives and out of state friends to the site, never saw any of the Alamo cats and never knew about them.......

Bella's predecessor was named C.C. (Clara Carmack) was her offical name and she served her duty at the Alamo for 18 years and passed away last July.    Before CC there was Ruby (who was adopted by the Alamo Rangers in the 1980's), but they said CC was the one that really popularized the Alamo Cat tradition, and even appeared on Animal Planet.

Take Care

That's really interesting! We used to go quite often. I loved the history, and DD would run around the grounds. I'm sure if she had found any kitties she would have chased them! Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  Well it sounds like your DD would make sure the Alamo kitties stay in shape by giving them a good work out.... Smiley Wink

@CalminHeart  Hey CALMIN----- I don't know Calmin, one department that I admire about the QVC is their Marketing Department---I cannot imagine having to come up with all these names for all these different shows which actually just how the same ole things---I think they are geniuses with what the Q gives them to work with... Hey, SPURT,

I really appreciate your thoughtfulness about the Temp-tations pic you provided just for my viewing pleasure.  I see there are now floral patterns with tulips and daisies.  Will the madness never end??!!   I see the line-up for ITKWD is boring as usual.  Not even an interesting cookbook.

And I would like to comment about how Chaz is pushing WEN for use on horses.  Let me just say that horses like to roll in the dirt after they have been shampooed or hosed off, so all that money that was so ridiculously wasted to wash a horse in WEN is now basically ground into the dirt.  When I hose off my horse after out lesson in the summer, the first thing he does when we get home is hit the dirt.  He feels SO much better to be dirty again.

It is a bit cooler, temps less than the 100's!  I might even get to take the dogs and one of my cats for a walk this evening.  The cat likes to follow - he is really funny.  It is Chanel, the one I named that because he was cat #5 to show up, as in Chanel No. 5.  Hahaha.  However, it is supposed to be back in the 100's next week.

@katiescarlett  Hey KATIE---what are friends for Smiley Wink  I know how much you love love love the product!!! And I'm reading there will be more items from Tara in the CIJ Show---Cat Wink  I Didn't realize DV was on vacation, JRT may have tried her best but no one happy dances lke David Smiley Wink

LOL about horses roling in the dirt, talking about watching your money go down the drain Cat LOL.....In addition to horses, some dogs do that too-- one time I was helping a friend bathe her Golden Retrievers---we took them ouside with a big tub and a hose and shampoo from the vet---immediately after we got them looking all spiffy and even used a blow dryer for that dog show look, one of them immediately began rolling around in the grass...LOL.....All our hard work......Cat LOL

Rebecca here...  and at the risk of sounding less than positive... I do believe I'd have to slap DS into Wednesday...

And yes, I've seen ESPN's website...  Does it occur to all these entities that if they have to so badly compromise their websites to make them capatible with all these devices... that maybe they ought to have mirror sites so the rest of us can actually use them...?

Dreary, rainy, nasty day here, (oh but gosh, it's a perfect dreary, nasty, rainy day, by golly...) so while I might get out and about later (big maybe) right now seems a perfect time to curl back up for a bit...  Perhaps with a book, but certainly not with QVC's usual weekend debacle... Sometimes I can't believe they still have customers...

@stevieb  HEY STEVIE----- POLLY here......

The Fitness Event was okay---the weather was actually pretty nice and not too humid. I watched my DS Zumba with Ronald MacDonald (highlight of her day she said---LOL---my DS is indeed wierd and I sometimes think some aliens dropped her off from another planet)......We did "the walk" and they had a few booths with water, t-shirts, healthy snacks, and brochures on keeping fit, along with a health check.  But what I found really strange was the fact that McDonalds had a booth, flying a banner with drawings of a cheeseburger, fries, and a coke--although their booth featured none of those items---I just wonder if there was subliminal message perhaps (talk about anti-fit)..., I wonder how many people would indulge after the event---ROFL!!!!

I had never been to that park before but it was really nice and the place is huge---it had a separate area for kids, and then a picnic area, a soccer field, and then a seperate area with several hiking trails that were nicely shaded with pretty scenery.  VERY NICE!!!  When I got home I did some vacuuming and straightening up....Figgy sheds bad during the summer....then went over to a friend's house and gabbed and watched a movie...Today I think I will just relax and like you do some reading....we were supposed to get some kind of front with rain, but as usual, the weather morons seem to be WRONG AGAIN---60% chance of rain, but the sun is shining and birds are singing....Cat Frustrated  Perhaps the front went your way instead of ours......hope it clears up soon in your part of the country......

ESPN's website is a NIGHTMARE---and they require yet another password to remember to get to sport and team info....I am soooooooooooooo tired of the emphasis on everything Iphone and tablet format making their sites unusable, even for the devices the re-design was supposed to help!!! ..how ironic is that!!!   I have to go to Twitter and use the link there to easily navigate and connect to articles/columnist I want to read.

Yep, Stevie, it really is surprising that the Q still has any customers.....and as I was flipping through the channels this morning I saw the promo for CIJ and it seems we will be treated to more of the Q innovation we've come to expect---I saw that they've minaturized the popular carolers and placed them under glass----oh it doesn't get better than that....LOL.  And one can only imagine the updates that they've made to this year's Flashpad...Oh I can hardly wait.Cat LOL  Cat Wink......jingle bells, jingle bells....

Rebecca here...  Well, glad your fitness event went well...  It turned off so amazingly cool Sunday night that I actually was able to turn off the a/c and throw open the windows...  Monday was one of those rare glorious warm, bright sunny, low humidity summer days...  It was short lived...  Now, we're back in the partly this-partly that, maybe rain, maybe not, some sun, hot and humid pattern...  Love-love-love... NOT!

McD's will advertise their wares anywhere... and everywhere... no matter the venue...  I remember when they actually used to have good french fries... The last time I tasted them they were like cardboard...   Which just goes to show, nothing remains the same...  Except, of course, the Q's programming...  I give up...  I tried to watch a bit of Issac and PMS last night, but had to turn it off...  It's just so bad...  And yes, so are so many of the new websites, designed to be all things to all people, so that they essentially don't serve anyone well...  And as for CIJ, no.  Just no.

Oh yes, I can relate---the partly this and that.....and I just love it when they give weather forecasts in the morning and say, "although our computer models say we may get some thunderstorms this afternoon, but we think they will be more north and east of us...."  And what happens a torrential rain storm hits about 2:30 PM......They are predicting hot and humid weather for Friday and big chance of rain for Saturday and Sunday, but promise no problem for the July 4th celebrations or fireworks, TRANSLATION-expect it to rain like heck all day and night!!! Cat LOL At least the rain keeps the temperatures low, but sadly next it seems that we are about to return to our regularly scheduled hot weather in mid 90's...if you can believe them.....But it's been nice that it's been cooler for us this year, athough a bit on the soggy side with all the rain!!!

WOW--so it was cold enough in your parts to even turn off the A/C and actually open windows---WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL!  I hope you have many beautiful days ahead!!!

Well I heard that McD's was hurting financially despite all their new and improved menus and pricing (sounds a bit like the Q doesn't it with all the format changes, and of course the shipping changes)......Yes, McD's DID HAVE good french fries, but they were forced to change to a healthier formula which seems to have impacted the taste.....well you can't have it all as some of the cheerleaders have been known to say.....

I am working from home so I watched VPH's Shows---the shows with Dan H and Mary Beth was nice to watch---but too much of what we've become familiar with....balsam wreath,.finials, the lava angels (as some like to call them), words to live by candles, mercury spheres,  and your famous horse---the horse did look very nice in front of the tree---and I was tempted, but didn't succomb.   She had a few new items cloches, doves, mice, and ornaments.  Nothing rang any bells for me, but the set was beautifully decorated.  And let's just say the afternoon show was difficult to watch.  Of course, I grabbed the remote for the other CIJ offerings, but I wasn't quite fast enough and unfortunately heard a bit of the song "LET IT GO" before the channel was changed!!!! The frozen world lives on it appears......In other words, don't think you've missed much Smiley Wink

Rebecca here...    Oh what the heck...  Spurt, old buddy, old pal, I think I'm gradually reaching the end of the line.  The boards aren't much fun anymore, the programming isn't much fun anymore, the savings are virtually non-existent, so really, why would I bother...?

I looked here to see what VPH had on offer for her various shows today, but watched exactly none of them because, pretty sets aside, I knew there wouldn't be anything of interest and after looking, I see I was right...  More of the same old, same old.  And really, isn't that pretty much all QVC is these days?

As for the weather, well that one day was nice... Unfortunately, it's been steamy and hot since then and lots of showers, together with some pretty nasty storms.  The one last night sent my tomcat under the bed and almost sent me under there with him...  Even once it began to wind down, I was so wrung out it was a chore to fall asleep and I was up early to make matters even more pleasurable...  Increasingly, the pool is old news and I'm just hanging on until fall...  For the first time in many years, I was (was...) actually enjoying summer this year, but with rare exceptions, there surely haven't been many nice days coming our way around here, and it doesn't appear the weather idiots are predicting that to change...

As for McD's...  once in a blue moon, I get a craving for a Big Mac, Double Cheese or Filet of Fish but it's rare and even more rare that I give in to the temptation.  There is fast food out there that is SO much better and with prices that are surely no worse than are theirs...  As for fries of the fast food ilk, Five Guys has them all beat, hands down....

In my pantry with my cupcakes...
