@Spurt I agree... Instead of comparing themselves to other shrinking entities... they should take a long, hard look at what's working... and TJX is working...
I nearly forgot to mention that the survey was also laden with references to whether or not 'celebrity' was important... I really wonder why it is that LIberty, as a retail group, hasn't figured out by now that the minor celebrities they bring on to hawk wares are superfluous... If people like what's being sold and are willing to pay the price then they'll buy it... Otherwise, having some third rate celeb standing up there with the hosts means nothing... You'd think they've have learned that lesson with the Kardashian debacle...

@stevieb I agree with you on this whole lineup on the Q. Celebs don't impress me what so ever. In the 'Old Days" QVC didn't need all this fluff and puffery to sell. It is a shame. I can see why they don't mail out program scheduling anymore.... it's the same ol same ol all the time. Here is a funny, I own a My Pillow and I can't even take the repetition of this item, not only on the Q, but every channel it seems. I need to get out to TJ Maxx for retail therapy ASAP

I think its just the QVC & HSN execs that get all excited for these celeb lines or as you correctly pointed out, pseudo-celebritiy brands.....but to the customers its just a big YAWN!!! Most of these so-called celebs are happy to get paid just for the use of their name on a product and actually have very little input in any aspect of the item. There are few exceptions, I think Joan River was involved in her stuff, and Rachel Ray seems pretty hands on with her products too, but for most, it seems all it is, is a way to pick up some easy cash..........
There was one celeb on a talk show and the host gave a plug for their new perfume that had just come out under their name, and the way the celeb acted and talked she had just smelled it for the first time, so how deep was she even involved in the development of the scent....I'd bet on NOTHING! .......... Most of these lines are also overpriced and cheaply made too, people are only paying for a name on a label! These brands are definitely NOT the sales magnet TPTB think they are............in fact most avoid them like the plague like I do....
As for the K-Dash gang I cant believe how any entity would agree to sell ANYTHING associated with that tacky crew!!!

@Kachina624 wrote:@Spurt Not my Pillow!!!! Anything but that. It's the ultimate QVC drag. Dysons of any ilk are fascinating by comparison. Pets with their pillows are really cute though.
Unfortunately, QVC brings the infommercial to Q viewers!!!!! You mean you dont enjoy the model testing an ordinary pillow and then a MY PILLOW????? At least its something made in the USA! But still BORING nonetheless! QVC sure knows how to make weekends "fun" don't they
Glad you liked the pets with pillows....I agree much cuter!
SPURT, Q is definitely into infomercial things these days, or so it seems. But, I will agree, at least the pillow is made in the US of American cotton and that the cover is made in SC - the state is one that has been devastated by textiles going overseas. I can remember going to towel and sheet outlet stores, and being able to buy them by the pound at Cannon outlets when I was young and we would travel to MD to see my grandmother. I will say, I am a bit tempted by the Echo, but the thought of having to pay a subscription service for music is somewhat of a turnoff. Honestly, these different subscription services can $10-$15 you to death.
To change the subject, I see that scamp Mr. Puff is at it again! I never knew he is getting on the bed while I am at work!! Ha, he is busted now!! And I see Leah was getting ready for the Preakness with her "horsies." Sadly, no Triple Crown this year. The Deby winner certainly faded badly, and the Preakness is a shorter race. Well, it just goes to show you that they are only human, except for Secretariat, who was a beautiful freak of nature. I had the pleasure of seeing him in KY before he died in 1989 ( as well as Affirmed and Seattle Slew).
As I was changing channels today I caught ITKWD offering of some 2 ounce steaks. Without tax, I calculated the per pound weigh at $31+/pound!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. That is as ridiculous as the cost of the KCS hotdogs. And one of the deals of the day on one of the other Q channels is crop pants for $40 a pair. Some deal, especially considering the size inconsistencies and issues with D&C - lots of people reviewing that they have to send them back because of sizing issues.
By the way, your sister's cat is one handsome feline.

Truth is @Spurt about celebrity 'brands' and endorsements, I couldn't care less, even when they go after higher end celebrities, but the notion of me wanting to own something because one of the heinous Kardashians is somehow involved is just laughable... I don't care if the celebrities merely put their name on it or whether they're actually involved with creating it, celebrity names are not a draw for me.... And yes, I think you're correct, the powers that be at Liberty seem to think it's a big deal. Yet another misconception by them, it seems.

Mr. Puff looks tired you must've really made him work this week...........
We used to have a big Mill Outlet Store too where you could buy all kinds of textiles, sadly our store went out of business too........couldnt compete with qwapp from China.... But now we pay for it in lousy quality!
I could careless about Echo or Alexa...... I dont want a high tech assistant.......If I had an assistant I'd want an actual person that could really do me some good---clean my house, clean my patio, do my grocery shopping, cook my meals and run those errands I hate to do, complete all my medical insurance paperwork so I can get reimbursed, and act as my personal chauffuer....NOW THAT'S AN ASSISTANT
The poor horse was probably tired, why I wonder how many after parties the horses attended after the Derby, no wonder no Triple Crown.........LOL!!! Seriously, they are beautiful horses and they have to work very hard to be a participant let alone win these races......That was neat that you got to see Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Affirmed........
I agree the QVC food "deals" are outrageously priced.......And that "try me fee" on clothes is ridiculous..... I made a mistake and bought some capris on clearance and I should've known better.....but the sizing was all off and the cuff stuck out like wings....I put it down as defective hopefully I get my original shipping refunded...these were AS IS on sale for $15.25......but still I can find better quality at Wally World........
I agree...my sister's kitty is devlishy handsome.....

I concur Celebrity Brands make me run in the opposite direction NO SALE HERE!!! Even as a teenager, just because a movie star, singer, or other celebrity wore a certain clothing item, makeup, or shoes I didn't want to imitate them or look like them or buy something they owned....I wanted to wear things that looked good on me and purchase things that were a good product at a good price!

Likewise Spurt @Spurt... It's called developing your own sense of personal style, as opposed to having someone else dictate it for you, you know, whether it works for you or not.
One that's really cracking me up when I see it is Justin Bieber now has several fragrances out... Come on, this might work for a twelve year old... but I'd think there's a limited market for fragrance by The Beebs... And really, it would seem his star is on the wane anyway...

OMG! .......The Beebs!!!!......LOL!!!!
Too me this seems like the perfect QVC product, the hosts would convince the grandmas how popular The Beebs is (even though his stardom has run out), and tell the viewers what a fantastic gift it would make for their grand daughter for graduation, or that birthday coming up, or put it in your gift closet for the holidays!!!! And can you imagaine the look on the face of their grand daughter when she opens it and offers a half hearted, "gee "thanks" grandma"........

Mr. Puff tired, my foot! He did not even get walked this week because I was nursing a cold all week.
I ended up not getting the Alexa, I had to remind myself I am on an austerity program because I have to have my small deck replaced.
I used to think that Lady of Liquid Knit's items were fairly reasonable, but no more. I caught a few minutes of her show and things were pretty pricey in my opinion. I also caught a few minutes of a LOGO show and she was talking about layering the item with other things so you would have, as she said, 6 layers. I started sweating just thinking about it. It is already in the 90's here and the humidity today is about a million. And layers of long sleeves! Yikes!
