@Spurt I have been doing more container gardening than in the past. It is just easier to deal with and if the plant doesn't like THAT spot, I can move the planter and try somewhere else. Yes, I hear you about the cats liking to snack on the plants. I have to be very careful with what I choose as well. I even grow special cat friendly grass for them to try and keep them away from it. They ate one of my spider plants right down to the roots and that was with me telling them NO, moving it and No again!
I saw one presentation on QVC for a hardy fig tree so I decided I would order that - I love figs so fingers crossed on that. Otherwise I buy locally. I can look at the plants, they don't need to be shipped, so that is a lot of pluses over ordering.
