Re: Q Customers Prefer Free Shipping Over Same-Day Delivery - article on the net

I would NOT want same day delivery.  I'm not buying stuff that I need the day I buy it.  Even Amazon Prime next day delivery is sometimes problematic because...hello...I have a life.  I'm not sitting at home waiting for packages.  Free delivery would be nice but this mama ain't no fool.  There's no such thing as "free delivery".  I'm happy with the $3 on most items.

Re: Q Customers Prefer Free Shipping Over Same-Day Delivery - article on the net

Well...I can only speak for myself, but I think Mr. King is wrong on so many levels and I wonder where he gets his info? I live outside Portland, OR and orders with QVC take typically 7-10 days, usually closer to 10 days because how slow they are at processing their orders. Too darn long in this online shopping world they're competing in.

I do a huge amount of shopping with Amazon. Their stuff is at my house in 2-3 days. And their prices are so much better than Q's...if I see something I like on Q I search on Amazon to see if they have it...cleaning products, purses, makeup, electronics, shoes are things I saw on Q and bought on Amazon. Exact same items for less money, free shipping, at my home in 2-3 days.

HSN stuff takes 4-5 days. Lands End 5-7 days with free shipping - and they're constantly sending me 20-30-40% off coupons. Zappos 2 days with free shipping. I just ordered a second Apple Pencil from Apple with 2 day shipping and free shipping. I could go on and on.

QVC's shipping charges and processing/shipping times have been issues for many of us for YEARS. They have insisted on making no real changes that benefit their customers...no matter what their competition offers. They add to their bottom line with the overcharges for their sloooow shipping. It's a money maker for them. Period.

He may claim his customers are patient - which is just a weird, complacent view of a valuable commodity (customers) - and obviously many are. But for me, the slow order processing, outrageous shipping costs, outdated electronic offerings, sizing and quality issues, and non-competitive pricing are the reasons many of us rarely shop with them any more. I started with them in 1989. I shopped pretty exclusively here through the next 20 years...and then I found better online retailers who seemed to value me and my money a lot more than my old faithful.

EZ Pays aren't the answer. Lower prices, REAL SALES, consistent sizing, faster shipping...this will make them competitive. It's what their competitors offer. Every. Single. Day.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Re: Q Customers Prefer Free Shipping Over Same-Day Delivery - article on the net

I seriously doubt QVC will offer free shipping on anything especially since the price of their items and the shipping and handling has done nothing but increase over the years.  And the quality has gone down.  I return items within 5 daysof receipt of the item and in the same package neatly done and we are charged not only for the label $6.95 (I get it) but addl shipping and handling charges.  For what may I ask?  When I return an item and request another size/color I receive that item rolled up into a ball and thrown in this disgusting used plastic bag.  I return it unopened and without a response.  I've taken photos of the items I've received which are insulting and  we are still charged shipping and handling upon returning an item.  And then to add insult a letter appears once a year from a phantom woman named Chapman (I think) scolding me for returning too many items.  Really?  I can see if I wasn't paying for the fee to return an item but really!  So I go to NM, Anthropologie, Boston Proper, Zappos, etc.  I'm just tired of QVC not recognizing their customers as loyal hard working people.
