I sent a letter directly to Mike George about the abysmal programming and got a telephone call from the front office in reply. They said they were working on improving the lineup. That was 2 months ago and it seems like the programming has gotten worse. Maybe if more people complained to the head office, it might have an impact, just like the Measurement Brigade and the Linea Ladies did. Just a thought. What we see today was probably planned a year ago. They have to order and schedule merchandise far in advance. Maybe this time next year, well be in a better frame of mind. I think one poster made a great point...it's no longer FUN to shop at QVC! Actually, it downright tedious.

It isn't any fun any more and the programming stinks, thank goodness there are other shopping channels.

I was channel surfing late last night (just before going to sleep I might add) and there was Jane Treacy selling the Poo-Pourri. Surely there is something better one can purchase as a gift. Pitiful, just pitiful.
Edited to add: My local merchants have benefited greatly by this abysmal programing as has other e-retailers. I get it QVC - you do not want my money.

I know, really... An unlimited array of products out there for them to present and they pick this? Not only that but they pick this and the same handful of other products to present over and over and over... It really is nonsensical. They ought to take a huge bottle and spray it in their management, programming and buyer's offices. That might, uh, eliminate a huge part of the ongoing stench.

They can't be blind about this. So what are they trying to do ???????

I'm hoping with what is developing at the other shopping channel and the addition of Kathy Levine and perhaps our lovely LR, it will force QVC to wake up and go back to better programming. It will either prompt them to bring back more good jewelry shows, better fashion, home decor, etc., or they will go the other direction and even more computers, vaccum cleaners, etc., in which case I will certainly jump ship! We'll see, but it has to get better, or I'll find other viewing.

Everytime I surf on by, it's either Poo-puri or that spinning lighted toy thing. This has gone on a very long time. It's like junk shop programming, just throwing all the same old stuff in a three hour show. I surf by and quickly leave. Perhaps after Christmas, they will be having a "going out of business sale."

Seriously. It's like somebody decided to televise the dollar store...

They monitor the posts, or they have them monitored anyway. They know what's being written here and they know about the level of discontent with their repetitive boring programming (incidentally, Dell this weekend, yet again, folks... followed by 'electronics' on Sunday...), they simply don't care... While I'll grant you their programming and partnerships are likely set months, if not years, in advance, we've seen this steady diet of computers and tablets, and vacuums and blenders and coffee makers now for the past several years and there's no sign of it letting up.
It's been suggested that QVC has moved away from being primarily a retail entity focused on buying merchandise and selling products to customers and has moved toward a model that sees them selling air time and hosting services to companies, and based on what we're seeing that might well be accurate.
Turning the page to Christmas, again, every year the same handful of items, over and over again... It's not fun, it's not festive and these aren't 'deals'. It's a steady diet of stocking stuffers, humidifiers, the same food vendors, 'practical presents, pooppourrie (really Q...), socks, the same toys and so on... It's awful. Hour after hour, day after day, starting in July and continuing until about now...
As a customer, I don't know or care about their business model, all I know is they've jumped the shark with this incessantly boring programming and awful on-air product mix. Even on-line the product mix is a shadow of what it once was.
Unless something changes significantly and soon, which I don't think it will, QVC will continue to become less of a shopping resource for many of us and they can simply rely on all those 'drive by shoppers' and one hit wonders buying computers and blenders for their success... or lack thereof.
Personally, I've had enough of this mess.
