Processing orders, what????

Why do we get charged a handing fee (processing fee) for items that take over 3 days just to process to be ready to ship? I would be more than happy to pay their handling fee (processing fee) if items were shipped out the same day they are ordered or the next day, but to have to wait 3-4 days after an order is placed is unacceptable with today's technology and what they are charging their customers. I have ordered many items from other Internet / shopping sites and get the item with free shipping and next day arrival. To have to wait 3-4 days just just have the item processed is poor management in such a large company. I understand qvc has millions of items to process but why are we paying for a handling fee. Improvement is nedded with this processing time, if others companies can do this why can't you!
