Re: Please stop posting external customer reviews

I agree. It unfairly stacks the positive reviews.

Re: Please stop posting external customer reviews

I don't like it either.  If a customer is pre-disposed to be on the brand's proprietary site, they may have been compensated by a promotion to leave a review, or think they will be in a future visit.

Check out this item on QVC's site -- A274394 -- It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Moisturizing Super Cream.  Over 3,760 reviews amongst 471 pages to read.  Who's looking at all that mess?  There isn't even a way to filter the reviews based on QVC vs. It Cosmetics' own site.

Of course, the overall review is 4.6.  Surprise, surprise.

Or the ones who haven't received the item yet and are annoyed it's taking so long to receive. It's not fair....and it's annoying.

I even submitted a whole thread in the SUGGESTION BOX about the inappropriate reviews back in May and it got a lot of hearts too! Of course in typical QVC fashion there have been no changes....Im surprised the Vendors dont complain, some of these inappropiate reviews could prevent an item from being CUSTOMER TOP RATED.

Some of the vendors have said on air that they read the QVC reviews to see what the customers were saying, but there are so many that complain about shipping delays, or colors and sizes that had sold out, or advanced orders etc etc etc ----AND it's clearly stated in the Review Rules that these are clearly not appropriate for the Review Section. Customers are instructed for these kind of concerns to call Customer Service instead....

@JackieBlue    What are 'external reviews'????  All of us who post are external to QVC.  I don't work at QVC so I would be considered external would I not?  I don't get this post.

@KatieB

These are reviews copied from other websites either the manufacturer's site and are ALWAYS positive, or from Blogs that are also all positive reviews and the item wasnt purchased from QVC......In essence they are opinions from customers NOT affiliated with QVC at all...and these really shouldnt be allowed to be posted on QVC's website....Reviews here should be QVC customers only and they should VERIFY that the purchase was indeed made from QVC!

Re: Please stop posting external customer reviews

I've seen reviews that are definitely not positive from manufacturers websites about their products.

Out of thousands of reviews from the brand's own site, there will definitely be some that are negative.  I've seen some as well.  But I still feel most will skew favorable.

Re: Please stop posting external customer reviews

  Reminds me of complaints here once of seeing the same model (in a still picture) using a cosmetic now presented for different ads. Maybe in magazines, on tv, and worst of all for an entirely different product. She must have been nice looking so everybody decided to use her.

Re: Please stop posting external customer reviews

I also skip most of those reviews especially when  customers given or sent a product to review, especially cosmetics. A bias is already there. The hosts also are given many products so they can say they use them. All part of "Sell Sell."
