Please, spare me...

[ Edited ]

I think I already know the responses that I'm leaving myself open to with this post, but please spare me (anything but the money it cost) and allow this rant without an attack.

I ordered a shirt from QVC on easy pay.  The first installment was $11.31.  I returned it, used their return label and was aware they would deduct $6.95 for s&h as well as $2.99 for the original s&h to send it to me.  My total refund was $1.37.  Although I was wise to all of these things, I can't help feeling SO ripped off.

Due to this, I will make certain to never order anything unless it's free s&h and there is NO possibility I would return it.  Although they might like this result, I can promise you that they will loose sales from those who feel as I do about this.  All of their, "take a chance, order it, get it home and if you don't like it, send it back, you have nothing to lose" comments (hoping you will order and not bother to go to the trouble of returning it or you could end up liking it) will have ZERO effect on us.  Hence, lost sales.

In any case, this is the last time this will ever happen to me.  It cost me $9.94 to look at one of their shirts.

They really make out on returns don't they?

Are you using the click here measurements for the actual garment size.  I use them exclusively and don't have sizing issues.

@LilMadiI did that with a pair of shoes. All in all it cost me $15.00 to try on shoes, decide they weren't the right size and ship them back. I also ordered 2 of the mats that you were supposed to put by your cat litter boxes so kitty could wipe her feet after using the box. That way the litter wouldn't get all over the carpet. They assured that kitty would like the mats. Nope, kitty quickly learned tha mats were there and decided to leap from the litter box over the mat on to the carpet. Of course, the litter flew in all directions when she jumped. The box was an odd size so it had to ship UPS. By the time I agreed to ship it, the shipping cost was the price of 1 of the mats. Another never do that again order. Unless it's a "I'm sure I want this" item, I don't order it. The cost of shipping is just too much, and that goes for more "stores" not just the Q.

I agree (are you surprised?).  I've had a couple similar experiences in the past.   I rarely order from QVC any more because of the shipping charges - and my state charges 10% tax on shipping and handling charges.  I always feel like I'm being robbed!   I look for free shipping on QVC and every online merchant.  I especially hate to pay to "try on" an item of clothing.

@GCR18- yes, I have used the click-here measurements and received items that didn't match the measurements.   I'd rather shop locally where I can try on clothing before I buy it.  No shipping charges.

Shopperqvc:  Your story about the kitty is so funny/not funny if you know what I mean...gotta love animals.

QVC is actually the only retailer I order from where I consider paying s&h, until now that is.

I'm just going to have to accept that if I want a particular product from QVC, I can't have it unless it offers free s&h (which is not often) and that even if I hate it when I get it, I won't send it back to them.

tototwo:  tax on sales tax here too.

Funny thing is, I almost NEVER buy any clothes from QVC, just not my style and now, even less so, lol.

I love your tagline/signature.

its the same wherever you shop. Q, hsn, or evine.

I have a dress packaged up right now. the dress was on clearance for $25, with a 3.99 ship. i'm using the return lable which is $6.95. exact same as you.  $11 to find out, i don't love it, and its going back.

Misery loves company.

The last time with a piece of clothing from evine, they did not provide the return shipping label. (for some reason, they don't provide it on all items) and i actually went to the post office, and they told me $14 to ship back.

i ended up just keeping that.

Live and learn.  Many of us have had the same eye-opening experience.  It is so tempting to order jeans or a pair of shoes, but I have been burned too many times.  Now I try on these items in stores before buying.  Luckily there is plenty of shopping near me.

If I do order clothing online, I make sure I can do returns at a nearby store (Macy's, Kohls, even Walmart).

 Yes, they do.
