I understand that you can't keep something in your cart forever, BUT, they say that if it's there more than an hour, it will be removed. What is truly not fair (yes, I know life isn't fair, it's their store, their rules, etc....) is if I put something in my cart and it sells out, and I don't get it because I didn't check out. If I'm at a bricks and mortar store, put an item in my cart, there aren't any left and you are ready to check out, you can't take it out of my cart. Have a rule, stick to the rule. If I'm not allowed to keep it in my cart for more than an hour, then I get to keep it in my cart for an hour.

Also, please, please, can the hosts use me and I properly? You would not say "me went to the store" so you don't say John and me went to the store. It's not "give it to I" so it's not "give it to Mary and I".

Ok, done venting. I'll hush now.

@Catstamper   The hosts make tons of grammatical and pronunciation errors.  You wonder if and where they were educated.

Host often remind customers when an item is selling quickly that they need to checkout before the item sells out. They also remind that an item in your cart can disappear before you finally decide.

It only makes sense for them to sell to someone actually ready, willing, and able to buy rather wait on someone procrastinating.

Next it will be "Me and John went to the store." Or " John and myself went to the store."  Ack!

I'm with you on that grammatical pet peeve! 😁

That's why they say an hour. That's not procrastinating, and that's why they have waitlist. If I decide to put it back on the shelf, someone else can buy it.

You're actually comparing shopping in a store with a real shopping cart to an on-line shopping cart?  Wow.

Re: Pet Peeve - in your cart

Sure. I've decided to buy it, have it in my cart, am still shopping. Why on earth would someone say they can take it out of my cart before I'm ready to check out? If I leave it in my cart for longer than the rules say I can, fine. But what if I'm planning to look at a presentation of a new similar item? I can't buy it at the Q and cancel, that's not possible any more. Or I'm on my way home because I can't remember if the item I already have is really a matching piece? If the rules are that if it's in your cart more than an hour it will be removed, then that's the rule. Not, if it's in your cart and someone else wants it too, they can buy it and you can't.

Re: Pet Peeve - in your cart

@Catstamper I understand the QVC rule differently.  I understand the "rule" is that when I put an item in my cart I am not finalizing the purchase until I check out.  So if others check out before I do, then I can miss out and the item can sell out.   I understand the 1 hour "rule" to mean that if I put an item in my cart and do not check out within an hour, the item is removed from my cart after 1 hour.   I understand that just putting an item in my cart doesn't mean I have the sole purchase option on that item for an hour.  I see your point about shopping in person and putting items in your cart to protect your purchase decision.  I agree about hosts using pronouns incorrectly.   Truth is I rarely hear anyone, anywhere  get it right.

That's a good point. B&M stores don't make policies like that. They aren't telling us they could have sold it to someone else while we continue to shop.
