Overheard on QVC: “Anybody thinking mash potatoes and turkey and gravy?”…and so

Said while selling a top...

I'm curious and so I'm taking a poll: me: NOPE, no, I'm not.  I'm not thinking "mash potatoes, and turkey and gravy" on July 18. I'm not looking ahead and thinking about what I'm wearing  for Thanksgiving. I'm sitting in my summer romper, thinking about ordering some more shorts.

You?

ps. I was at our casino clothing shops today...all in full swing summer mode, still full price too. Not a one shop was even hinting at fall clothing yet. Just sayin'. Q must have a different "business model." 😏

If a top said mashed potatoes and gravy to me, I'd have to pass.

Well, I wasn't thinking about turkey and gravy, until I read this thread. Now it's all I can think about. I'm apparently very susceptible to suggestion Woman Wink

Oh, this is too good to pass up.

I'm NOT quite sure of your point, I think it means that you're not thinking fall and all that implies.

On the other hand, maybe because I just got up.  I thought you were....now don't laugh...lol!!

I thought you were referring to a shirt that said mash potatoes and gravy.  giggling like crazy!!!

Yeah, whatta you want?  People to think I'm a slob?    CRACKING UP LAUGHING!!!!

Just kidding you.  However, on a more somber side, I have to eat soft stuff because I got implants but not for looks, strictly utilitarian reason and one failed out of four so I'm not up to par with that....  sniff, sniff...  seriously, though I am bummed about it but your thread just made me laugh. They're just selling......nothing wrong with saying that. Trust me...if most of us were actually speaking live on TV for a couple of hours straight, you might be surprised what would actually come our of your mouth.

Well, I am having Thanksgiving in July tonight. I am putting a Turkey breast in crock pot and making all the fixings. My brother is joining us for dinner also. I thought it would be fun. Thanksgiving is only 129 days away. I am a vegetarian I will eat the side dishes. Oh and it will be 85 here. So in the spirit of good fun Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

Well then...Amy had a SG top for you to wear on last night's show. Smiley Wink

But seriously...have fun with your brother for your Thanksgiving in July.

@amyb   I expect Thanksgiving's temperature in my neighborhood to be 80ish, so no matter what the menu is, the dress will not involve heavy layers, sweaters, etc.

The good news about what most clothing retailers offer for the next 6 months is that I don't have any need for those items.  There's a large enclosed mall a few minutes from my front door, but except perhaps to walk in the A/C I see no reason to go there.  Even In southern Florida, they show more for those who travel or send gifts north than clothing comfortable for us locals.

BTW.  when I lived and worked in the North, I did most of my clothes shopping for the fall and winter during the early August sales.
