Re: OK...So what SHOULD QVC offer?

I've been a shopper since the CVN days before the Q was even on, so yeah, I agree it seems like a slap in the face to long-time loyal customers. Even HSN offers occasional 20% off coupons to customers. Why doesn't QVC?

  1. some kind of loyalty program spend so much get $ to use
  2. shopping cart spend over 50$ and get free or reduced shipping
  3. forget that they think we want entertainment we don't, detail on the product first, no dancing daughter wants this
  4. try offering more products in a hour don't need to spend 15 mins on a tshirt
  5. get rid of all the excess inventory, they sell it on pallets, sell on the site and keep that money
  6.

I hear ya.  Heart  Sometimes I have trouble explaining what I mean.  I've been a customer for over 30 years.  I don't think that QVC has any way of knowing that I have been a shopper for so long.  Maybe they can separate the newbees from those who have been a QVC customer for maybe over 5 years.  But I doublt they can tell the difference between who has been shipping 5 years or 10 years, to 35 years.

some companies know I have been a customer for 20 years,  if they invested in better IT they'd know this

Re: OK...So what SHOULD QVC offer?

QVC has fumbled the ball and going forward may be in deeper trouble than they were before all this turmoil. If you want to increase your sales, you don't want to diss your customer base that has contributed to your ongoing presence in today's retail climate. Sometimes good ideas are a fail and need to be addressed not throw a bucket of water on the fire. For every action their is a reaction, in this case it was irresponsible.

The only thing Q could do now is to offer an apology for such a blunder and try a new path. Maybe work with some of the cash back sites and offer a higher incentive. Something has really happened within their company that has contributed to their downward spiral. I never watch due to lack of information and hosts that just add nothing.

I mentioned on a previous thread that I think there is no way for QVC to know who their long-time customers are.  If you work, think of the computer system you are currently using.  Is it the same system that it was 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago? Probably not.  IMO, QVC has no available data to show for how many years some of us have been shoppers.

@PhilaLady1

I started an account with QVC in 1986.  Shopped until around 1995, then decided to stop shopping at QVC until 2012.  Did not close the account.  When I returned in 2012 to place an order QVC sent me a message...."Welcome Back "my first name."

I was so surprised QVC kept my what was an inactive account on file so long.  I thought I'd need to start a new account, but placed an order just to see what would happen.  It went through with no problem and the message above from QVC.

QVC also remembers those accounts they closed.  Those customers cannot return.

So, from what I see, QVC knows how long customers have been shopping.

Re: OK...So what SHOULD QVC offer?

1) Flat S&H rate for multiples.  Hosts suggest buying a coulpe of colors of the same item but I won't spend $5 per color

2) Have a blow out sale for old inventory.  People may buy the unsellable junk for a couple of bucks

3) Spend less time per item and offer more items per hour.  I will not sit through the hosts babbling on and on.

4) 5 min recap same time each hr for TSV.

5)  1 host per show

6) Free shipping for orders over $X in a day.

7)  Be more like HSN

Re: OK...So what SHOULD QVC offer?

How about a subscription service like Amazon?

A set membership fee that gives you free shipping on EVERYTHING.

We all know there is no such thing as "Free Shipping"....it's just been rolled into the price of the item...

I wonder if people would subscribe.

the subscription model seems very popular and prevalent in other businesses...

I wish they'd bring back that cornn-ballish "dad-gum" guy...I miss his hokey corny speil!!! (NOT!!).

(the one who used 100 gallons of oil to fry a turkey...remember him?!!?!?)

I think that concept went belly up...lost out to the air fryer gimmick for cooking tons of tan food...

Either that, or there's shortage of oil...the Wen guy and Josie Maran bought it all for thier greasy oily products!

Re: OK...So what SHOULD QVC offer?

At one time didn't the Q offer free shipping on one item if two of the same were ordered together?

OT: I'd sure like to see those shows where just a minute was spent on each item.

Don't misunderstand me my second sentence has nothing to do w/what should be offerered, just a comment.

@Karie2022 I don't think they ever offered free returns.
