What happened to the shipping fee on the item description page?  It's not showing on my laptop nor my phone.  I don't see it until I check out.

Re: Not Seeing Shipping Fee

[ Edited ]

@Pecky There are a few other threads concerning this same issue. Others feel it is "tricky" and "sneaky" on QVC's part. However, before you check out it clearly gives you the S&H so you aren't purchasing before knowing the shipping.

With that said, I wondered why QVC would do this. My theory is they can keep better track of items that customers are interested in. When we add an item to our carts, the powers that be know, there are counters that keep track of this. Again, my own perspective, they are doing some sort of tracking to see what items we are interested enough in that we add to the cart. If we check out then the shipping cost did not deter us. If we put it in our cart then remove it, maybe they will believe the shipping is too high? I do believe most of us are aware that apparel usually costs $3.50, and just about everything else is $5.50.

I don't find it tricky or misleading but I do find it interesting and I'm curious why they have removed the S&H on the item screen.

Shipping is different depending where you live. Maybe they had complaints about higher costs so this works I guess. In your cart it knows your zip code.

Maybe different in places like Alaska and Hawaii and the residents there already know it is going to be more.

S/H can sometimes be a dealbreaker for me.  I've backed out of some transactions when I see how much the item is really gonna cost me.

The thing that bugs me is the way hosts downgrade the price.  For example, if the item is $29.99, they'll either say it's $29 or they'll say 29 & change.  No, it's basically $30, and that's a lot of change.  I know it's a sales tactic; it just irritates me.

They had this same website bug a few months ago; hopefully, they'll fix it soon.

I agree.  I think it's the same glitch.  People were complaining then too, and it was fixed in a day or two.
