No tracking on return item

I just posted in the wrong area, so I am reposting here. I just sent back a ring that was too small, thought I would check on return tracking and it is not there. How are you suppose to watch the progress of the item. Very upsetting! I just hope it gets back without any hang-ups, especially at this time of year.
