i live in the north east. i just went and looked, my outside thermometer says it's 30 degrees.
i haven't had any static cling by using the dryer balls. even if you switched to the dryer balls and had static cling, at least your clothes would not have the chemical residue that the dryer sheets leave on everything. to me, that in and of itself is an improvement.

I stopped using them a few years ago because I use microfiber cloths on my face.
I also get my sheets dry cleaned and starched. They work best when you don’t use fabric softeners.

Fabric softener is also bad for the dryer vents. I was told do not use fabric softener as the vents getting filled with gunk can cause the vent to collect lint and if it becomes clogged, you will have a fire. I found that out the hard way.
