@Calcgirl

Yes, I have posted about this.  There has been quite a bit of speculation on different threads.  It's a strange business model.  It must be expensive to recruit and interview and train new people.  Who's to say they will attract any more business than the hosts who were recently shown the door?

Well the network was doing what everyone else was doing last year laying off people due to covid. Now since things are reopening up makes sense for them to hire people

Yes, you keep asking this question. A couple of those hosts should have been shown the door years before! They were dead wood for QVC and happily collecting their paychecks and reaping the benefits with little effort or ambition on their part.

It's over and done; business moves one and new hosts are hired. Hopefully, they have been vetted and trained much better than that group!

@Calcgirl   Wasn't that about a year ago?

One has NOTHING to do with the other. Because several hosts were let go no new ones can't be hired? Companies let people go and hire new staff all the time.

Laid off due to COVID? I don;t think so. Performance on and off camera matters. As far as new hosts go, contracts and salaries are probably very different than those held by long-time hosts who were let go.

Could not agree more BirkiLady....although Gabrielle was the exception IMHO. I found her professional, prepared, and engaging without silliness or endless chatter about personal info.

@Calcgirl   It's the revolving door syndrome...most likely sales' based.

My speculation would be that sadly QVC is following the short-sighted business model of many in the corporate world. Namely, weed out mid level employees who have been employed ten years or so whose salary range and benefits package are moving them into a higher bracket and replace them with newbies starting out at the bottom.

I think this would explain letting go of very competent hosts like Gabriella, Katie, Sharon etc. Others may be expected non renewals like Kristine Zell and a few others who never seemed to get up to speed.

it’s a shame that many companies have little loyalty to their employees who have helped grow them but it is a fact.

I've seen Monifa and the new host that worked with Mary Beth, and I'm sorry, but they are not better than the hosts that QVC fired.

From what I've seen, neither of them should have even made the first cut.
