Re: New Website Format

[ Edited ]

Has QVC ever made a change that was actually an improvement for the customer/user here? Has anyone ever thought, "Heck yeah, that's works better!"

@blossomlady  I understand and see the same new format.  I also don't care for it either.

For those that don't see this new format, when you go to Items On Air, a page comes up and lists the entire day's items, show by show, starting with the most recent show first.  Then you either have to keep scrolling down to get to the program you want to see, or, you can select a specific program from a pull down menu on the left side.  See the two screenshots below.

I think what's frustrating for many is that the Web site is constantly changing making it a nuisance for easily finding what you want.  IMHO, these changes aren't improvements at all and are instead unneccessary annoyances.

BTW, I use a Samsung Android tablet with Chrome.

@LdyBugz Thank you for the screen shots.  It's much easier to explain what we are seeing.  I am using Hp laptop with Edge.

I know everything needs to be refreshed and updated, but I'm have a hard time getting used to the new website format. There are many more clicks to get to what you want. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

How does everyone else feel about the new format? Have you found any tips and tricks?

@blossomlady It is different if you go to the items recently aired from the main page of QVC.  If I go in from the top of these forums it is the same.

One thing about web pages, they always have and always will change.  Designers change, techniques change and the web programming parameters change.  So, whether users are happy or not, change is a big fact of life on the internet.

As a webmaster from the early early days on the internet, it is what it is!  And if you work in that medium you scramble day to day to keep up.

My internet is slow enough that I can still see the original show listings on the left for an instant before they now change to the drop down boxes.

I also thank you for the screen shots, and I also view QVC on an HP laptop with Microsoft Edge. Each tweak by QVC of their website format has been annoying, yet I was able to adapt. With this latest change, I ceased reviewing recent items on air due to both the extra steps as well as the new format changing my time zone from EST to CST or PST with each use. Assuming that online sales account for a large proportion of their business, QVC is achieving their unwanted goal of driving away more customers.

@1Professor Interesting. One of the things I do a lot, because I don't watch live much, is go to "items recently on air". Instead of seeing the entire line up on the screen, I have to go to drop down menu, click the day, then click the show I want to see.

Maybe their just testing something with a few customers. Oh well. Thanks for the comment.

Same for me.  Now I have to scroll down for the program instead of just clicking on it.  Will shop even less here than I did before and that was pretty seldom.

Yes, driving away customers with just about every new move they make! The new shenanigans they're pulling with basically no longer giving thirty day price adjustments is another great example. As my dad used to say, "Beats anything I've ever seen." Woman Frustrated

With these new changes with the new format and the price adjustment, it isn't looking good for QVC.  They are going to push people away instead of shopping.  I have been looking more at ShopHQ with their free shipping and coupons.  ShopHQ is having big announcement beginning of April.
