Very disappointing, how are the hosts going to spin this? It tells me they are desperate for new customers. I am waiting to hear from David.

The hosts are going to "spin" it like this:
Repetition of the offer, said with much enthusiasm and urgency.
David will, at the end of his ITKWD, look into that expensive HD camera and say..
"Thank you to the nearly 6000 new customers who shopped the first day with us today!! Welcome!!!"
And then he will go on to do the next show, secure in the knowledge that he is on track to keep his job and benefits until HE decides to leave, instead of QVC asking him to clean out his locker today if he rants against thier policy.
David can make plastic drain stoppers sound exciting. He will do the same for this policy.
I can't beleive you'd think that ANY host who wants to keep thier job is going to do anything else.

QVC really out-did themselves on this mess.
I think we all know as shoppers, companies offer new customers promotions all the time, that's business as usual. But it's typically a one-time coupon, discount, free shipping, or cash back, etc.
But this is different. QVC's business model from day one was to make shoppers feel like family. They encourage the hosts' to lay out their personal lives in their shows, and now all over social media. Marriages, deaths, births, vacations, illnesses, pets -- anything and everything to keep that "we are family" gimmick feeling intact. They want shoppers to invest their emotions in them.
Could the new guard of executives be that unaware of what a blunder of a promotion this is? They should have had a 1:1 promotion from the start. Keep that new promotion, but at the same time, have a different, great promotion benefiting current customers. You know, the customer they claim are family.
Whether you feel that way is -- to each their own. It's just to say, QVC is not Macy's or the faceless cable company doing this. I feel that this is why this particular promotion is such a blunder.
Now, only now, are they announcing they will be offering something for existing customers as well.
I'm watching the TSV steaks. This is the exact type of item for which I would call up my son (a former chef) and let him know I'm buying these for him since he's extremely busy, out of state, in a new career. But all the TSV does today is send me to a different retailer to order steaks for him.

@Bookplate Absolutely.
Would be nice for long time customers to be rewarded.

@Franklinbell wrote:Well, I just spoke to customer service and I was told no such promotion exists. After I instead that the show hosts are talking abour it and a banner appears on the screen she checked. She then came back and the promotion is only for the first purchase and expires at midnight on 12/31 and then asked if I wanted to place an order. I politely said no and wished her a nice day and hung up the phone.
At the beginning of ITKWD Mary went through the whole promo...yes, new customers place order using freeship in "promo" code and then it's good on all purchases through 1/31 up to 15 purchases. The CS people are not well informed in any sense lately.
I don't agree it's "fair" but then again I limit my QVC shopping to unique (things I can't find in traditional stores) or when free shipping is offered. And certainly don't need overpriced frozen foods.
I have a feeling from reading here the PTB will offer excess free shipping days to everyone if they want successful holiday season.
I'm finding more & more nothing interests me as I don't care for the themes or can barely watch the hosts who are over the top with fake enthusiasm. I like to see presentations but it's just too hard to watch -- like nails on chalkboards🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄🙄

A lot of people are expressing their disappointment about this to Mary on the ITKWD watch party. I asked her to let the powers that be know how we feel about it. Go there and let her know how you feel.
Mary is not a powerhouse, we need David to express customers thoughts to management. I have emailed David regarding the uproar.

So I'm wondering if you really want to become a 'new' customer to get the free shipping....can you have someone else in your household sign up and have them place the orders for you?
Just throwing that out as a possible option. May or may not work if they go by address.
