I appreciate those who described their own similar experiences and those who gave suggestions.  I also appreciate the comments that this was most likely a stocking error.  I was so frustrated initially that I was not thinking positively but, agree it most likely was a stocking error.  The shoes that were sent do fit my feet so I believe I'll keep them even though they weren't what I ordered.
