Not good!  I rarely have to do returns because I generally order the same things.  Boring? Yes!

There is a tracking number on the QVC label. Just write down your tracking number. Your item is automatically insured and is included in Q's return cost.

I have put the white, plastic bags that many clothing items come in into our mailbox with the flag up, and it has taken the post office up to ten days to process the returned item being on its way back to QVC.

But when I use the USPS home pickup service, it is processed into the tracking system much faster.

Either way, QVC guarantees that your item is insured if you use their return label.  I've never had an item not make it back to QVC, but I find their customer service accommodating enough that they would almost certainly honor a lost package.

Heck, I had a UPS driver throw a QVC bag onto my front porch - it split open - and when I went outside to pick it up about an hour later about five yellow jackets flew out and I got stung. They got in there after the bag split open. I let them know what happened, even though it was the fault of UPS - and they gave me a $100 credit to my account. I was outside doing yard work and SAW the UPS guy THROW the bag onto my porch from about 15 feet away; no wonder it split open!

I don't love the $6.95 return shipping but their customer service people are very accommodating. And here's a tip - ASK for a credit for poor shipping if it happens. I used to work at an eBay and Babies-R-Us call center and we would almost always honor reasonable requests, and wouldn't necessarily have offered the credits or refunds if the customer had not asked.

That said, they don't refund shipping for anything that is delivered to you by the EDD (estimated date of delivery) date. One minute over that and you'll get your shipping refunded IF you call and ask.

QVC also has a live chat feature with their customer service department; the link is at the bottom of every page on their website. I hate calling customer service numbers and getting stuck on hold; I always use their chat service and it's fast and easy. Plus, you can print it if you want proof of the "conversation".

I try to shop places that have free shipping and returns.  I just ordered some pajamas and sandals from Nordstrom's for that reason.  I don't know any place that charges for returns that returns your original shipping charge.  I think that's pretty standard.

You don't have to be home for the pickup....

This is from their website....

Do I need to be present for Package Pickup?

If you are shipping postage-paid items within the United States that have been properly prepared for pickup and left in a safe location for the letter carrier, you do not need to be present.

Mailpieces weighing more than 13oz. bearing postage stamps for postage must be presented by the customer to an employee at a retail counter at a Post Office™ location. Also, international mailpieces, including mail destined to APO/FPO/DPO addresses, with a customs declaration form that was not completed online must be presented by the customer to an employee at a retail service counter at a Post Office location.

I may be wrong, but I think they still nail you for all of the shipping for several items shipped together. Imagine - four clothing items that weigh less than a pound each and the shipping is $28 for the box!

I get that they have costs to receive items back at their warehouse, processing, repackaging, relisting their inventory as As Is, and the financial refunds. That all costs money and each department has to pay people to do all of these steps. But still ... $6.95 for something is high.

What I'd REALLY like to see is for QVC to do something like Amazon Prime. I order enough items that I'd gladly pay the $99/year (though Prime is going up to $119 soon) for two day shipping and free returns.

I sometimes wonder if QVC counts on returns for all of the revenue it generates.

Also, when you fill out the USPS pickup form, it says somebody has to be home. They come to my house often enough that they know exactly where I leave my packages and they never knock on the door. I just make sure to put a note in the little comments box mentioning that the package(s) will be by my back door at the bottom of the steps. Works every time. Our post office is at a busy intersection and its always full of lines of people. I haven't been there to return anything to QVC for at least a year.

Also, if you are sending something anywhere at all (not just QVC) and you use Priority Mail or a few other forms of shipping with USPS, they offer the same free pickup service. Smiley Happy

Only problem with that is you don't  get a receipt for package that you sent it back.

@willomenia

You get an email from USPS confirming they picked up the package and it includes a tracking number......and I also check the box on the return form that I want confirmation when QVC receives it..........

I wouldnt want QVC to offer something like Amazon Prime.  You have to have more than 20 orders to make it worthwhile and these days with QVC repeating so many of the same items, and I stopped buying clothes due to inconsistent sizing, I have a vacuum, mattress, blender, mixer, I buy my beauty/costmetics at department or drug stores---theres only a few vendors I like, and dont need to buy them often, so it wouldnt be worth it for me and many Q customers.....

I have returned clothing items in their original packaging, but placed them in a large manilla envelope with the QVC return label affixed, and put them in a mailbox.  I had no problem.  You just can't use stamps to do that, but the package with the return label is okay.

That said, I think QVC should offer something to "Preferred Customers". In other words, the idea would be if you spend a certain amount per year, you would get two-day shipping. Or free returns. Or something.

I would NEVER pay for Prime from any company.  My daughter is Amaz prime...her last 8 orders were NOT delivered in 2 days and they were fulfilled by Amazon themselves.

When I order from Amazon, I can just wait to compile a $25 order then shipping is usually free anyways!  If it doesn't qualify for the $25 order free shipping, then I won't buy it from them.   I never need anything that fast to pay an upcharge.

BUT WHOO HOOO on your second paragraph!  I spent so much at Q, I would qualify for it all!   Tee hee!

I am with the other poster.  You do not get an immediate receipt with those pick ups methods.

I will wait in line and always get a receipt...ALWAYS...here is why.

I always used to just walk up to the PO counter and leave the pkg. w/ a Q label.

Worked fined until the day I walked up w/ a D&B expensive purse to be returned.

Yes, I made a copy of the return label so I had the tracking number.  But it NEVER made it back.  It disappeared off the planet.

If you don't have a PO receipt, you have NO real proof you actually took it there OR that your carrier made a pick up.

The PO would do NOTHING to help me, I had NO proof I handed it off to them.  QVC had NO tracking info on it.  I had NO proof I actually returned it.  The return ID number showed no status available.

I thought I was going to eat several hundred dollars.  5 weeks later, it finally showed up at Q.

Never again.  Not worth the risk IMHO.
