And hugging spreads the flu bug less?

As far as I'm concerned hand shaking should be a thing of the past also.

I prefer bumping fists if someone feels they need contact. My real preference is hello from a few feet apart. I am not a hugger and do not want to be hugged by others. I like my own space. Probably that can be contributed to my introvert state of mind.

Let's agree that the vendors and hosts have already greeted each other before airtime in preparation for the on air presentation.  The on air hugs are PHONY and to tout a host's "friendship" with the vendor.   This is supposed to make the host more of an expert on the item to sell???   NOY

I'm surprised they still encourage all the hugging, air kisses, touching, etc.

I'm sure a lot of people don't like it -- and not just for health reasons.

Mary Beth creeps me out.

I think that she's the biggest phoniest actress of them all.

I am in agreement with you.  So sick of hearing how professional, sweet, and kind and loving she is.  Bleh!

From reading some of the posts on here, I am so glad I'm not a QVC host.

I find it kind of funny, and maybe disingenuous.  I'll bet the hosts have met and seen the vendors already that day.

So they don't have to act like they are just seeing them!
