I did not hear anything that said Julia was a permanent replacement. Most likely they are juggling the schedule with the absence of 2 hosts and others on vacation.

Julia did great IMO. She ask questions, was interested in what Gary had to say, and was as informative as she could be about the products on such short notice.

I had been wondering to myself who they would put with Gary for the first show without Carolyn. I just knew there would be someone that would grump about who hosted, and I was right.

I tuned in today for the Denim & Co. show like I do every Tuesday morning, and not knowing about the lay-offs, I assumed Carolyn had the day off for some reason and that is why Julia was filling in.

It wasn't until I heard about the lay-off of Carolyn through Dan from I Alegedly on YT today that I came on the forum to see it it was true.

My thoughts about the lay off of Carolyn and Dan specifically is the company is trying to appeal to a younger crowd or at the very least spur the over 50 set to act as if they are younger (hence the giggling silliness of some of the older hosts). The older hosts that couldn't or wouldn't "act" with new vigor to the satisfaction of whomever prescribed this as an antidote to sales were let go...and will continue to be let go.

Perhaps QVC thinks the older demographic isn't purchasing as much as the younger and so the axe goes to their on-air representatives?

I never had a problem with Julia and still don't. She did a good today. Each host is an individual with their own style and should'nt be compared to each other. No one can replace another and the harder they try the less successful they become.

We don't have to be a fan of everyone, but no need to disparage them.

I tried to find the comment that Julia made that struck me as "in poor taste" under the circumstances.

I don't hear well & for that reason I watch TV with only captions & sound muted. I was late tuning into D&C today & was only able to view the flutter sleeve blouse & the set of 3 tshirts toward the end. I tried to find the comment in the videos but could not find it. Maybe some of you heard it. It was something like "It was written in the stars that we should work together."It was when they were showing the stars shirt #A396677.

AGREED! I put the show on for 2 minutes, then changed the channel. Whereas in the past, I would watch Gary and Carolyn. They had great chemistry. Julia is not a good fit for QVC.

I find Julia hyper, giddy and has a very irritating voice. I can't watch her. If she's the host, whatever it is, I wont be watching or buying.

Excuse me, but there are hosts have been there longer, like Mary Beth and Jane. The most obvious deference between Carolyn and Dan and other hosts is their health issues.

Could QVC have used that as the determinant factor in letting them go? There's no such thing as coincidence.
