Please, no more complaints about QVC's offerings. It's that time of year and if you're familiar with QVC, then you know what to expect.

I like the sets. Yes, sometimes there's a color I don't like or I only need one. If there's one lipstick I really want in a set of three and I don't want two of the three, I will go to the company's own website and order the one I want. Yes, that one item costs more than the one in the set, but it's not a value if I'm not using 2 of the 3. If there's one I don't like but I like 2 of the 3 and the set saves me money compared to buying the two I like elsewhere, I'll buy the set. I can always gift the third item or give it away.

Same with other items. I want two, the set comes with three, I'll give one away. If the set comes with 5 and I need 1, I'll buy one elsewhere.

If the items are tops, it can be trickier. I've bought some top sets where I loved one color and was so-so on the other and found that I really liked both.

@ChynnaBlue. I select my purchases the same way. My family loves the fluffy blankets in colors. My house has a lot of the tan blankets as they were always the 2nd of the set. No one needs blankets for now. I do not mind tops in sets but there are times 1 of the tops does not fit or is flawed. I hate to return both but the choice is mine. Sets of items from vendors such as Philosophy and WEN can be great and I save money.

I think that Travelon set of three wallets is a great deal if you need three "little somethings" for gifts. And it's great to only have to pay one shipping charge.

I agree with the OP!! I have often considered buying an item, only to find out that there are two or three in a set!! Usually, there is one in the set that I don't like and would not have purchased.

I have found this to be true with clothing, accessories and household items. Yes, the S/H is a better deal, but not if one in the set will not be used.

I also agree that sets (duplicates) of my favorite cosmetics are products that I would purchase. ex - under eye creams, lotions etc.

I agree with OP. I think the Q does this b/c it increases their profit, if enough people buy the sets. Also, since it's holiday season, some people will keep one and gift the other(s) in the set.
