That's just what bullies want - to stop anyone from pointing out how rude and unnecessary their nastiness is and that they cannot intimidate others into silence!! It cannot be ignored and our schools are now teaching children to speak up against it. Calling the nasties out shows them that they are not the majority but the minority and their behavior will not be ignored. It's not about "defending" a host or vendor - it's about decency and letting the nasties know that many more do not agree with their bashing. Say you don't like a host but don't post humiliating, nasty, rudeness with it (just like a nasty junior high bully would)and then go on to state they need to be fired and gotten rid. These cannot be passed off as opinions. If someone has the audacity to be so nasty and rude then others need to speak up. A few years ago the nasties had a larger presence on this board as they had chased away so many nice posters and then when more and more started calling them out on it there are fewer of these posts.

Well Pook, as long as you "point out how rude and unnecessary their nastiness is" then you are part of the PROBLEM, and NOT part of the SOLUTION. And all this does is escalate the situation.

In school they teach children to report bullying to a teacher, principal or other adult .....In this case if something is REALLY over the top, contact QVC---via REPORT INAPPROPRIATE, email QVC, call or snail mail a complaint to QVC. There is nothing I've seen that encourages children to fight the fight by themselves to get the situation resolved. And a word of caution, its in the Standards, excessive reporting can get you banned too, because that means if you can't handle the forums, perhaps you should pursue other websites if you find this one too upsetting.......

Here's an article. Something to think about....

Report Cyberbullying

A young boy sits at a computerWhen cyberbullying happens, it is important to document and report the behavior so it can be addressed.

Steps to Take Immediately

 • Don’t respond to and don’t forward cyberbullying messages.
 • Keep evidence of cyberbullying. Record the dates, times, and descriptions of instances when cyberbullying has occurred. Save and print screenshots, emails, and text messages. Use this evidence to report cyberbullying to web and cell phone service providers.
 • Block the person who is cyberbullying.

Yep, nothing flaming in my post unless they don't like the person in the Oval Office. All I did was say he presented the Medal of Honor to one of our undergraduate students last week, a young Marine who saved his buddy's life by falling on a hand grenade. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}Now, what is bad about that? THAT should make you proud! Or saying I wish someone would buy me shoes every 2 months like I do for my horses? (I should be so lucky{#emotions_dlg.laugh}).

I like Calmintheheart's suggestion that Corporate respond to our ongoing discussions, particularly about the boring and repetitive programming. Also, regarding her first suggestion, we should be able to give our opinion about a product, even if it is negative, without "fear" of retaliation from rabid fans of the product - and you know who I mean.....Wink

And SPURT, yes for spell check! Drives me nuts to read some of the product reviews when you know the misspelled words are not just typos. We all make typos! I think texting is wrecking the ability of people to spell and write correctly. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown} Just my opinion.

There is a website (formerly TWOP, now moved to another site) where the posters are ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED to say anything negative about OTHER POSTERS or FANS of a particular host, vendor, or product of a TV Shopping Channel. However, they are totally free to say anything and everything connected to the TV Shopping Channels be it host, vendor, or product. Now a warning, some of the stuff said is way way over the top in meanness and nastiness (a reason I don't post there), but some are more in line with just giving opinions and insight and interesting links regarding the channels, and some are humorous, there are even some compliments to a channel or host and info on sales and bargains (and that is why I sometimes lurk there), but one thing I've noticed is the PEACE and HARMONY amongst ALL the posters and no infighting. Even if someone is particularly rude and nasty a poster may give an opposite opinion and say something like "I actually bought that TSV and actually liked it so much and I even went back for another color", or they might say, "Despite all the silliness, I like that host's sense of humor", and they leave it at that and everyone moves on. INTERESTING CONCEPT!

It's still there and working. I just completed the survey and the results were accepted.

Here is my 2 cents worth.

1. Make people grow up and respect everyone's opinions (yikes, even those with whom they disagree). Yes, that's sarcasm but it's really the only thing that bugs me.

2. Allow one sign-in that works for shopping and forums...so we can flip back and forth without having to log in on each side.

3. Have Q Corporate take note of the repeated and repeated and repeated concerns and respond directly (no beating around the bush and no PC talk). People often feel like they are talking to a brick wall and it would help to get honest, straight-forward, responses.

4. Don't allow people to report others. Unless someone is stalking or threatening someone, there is no need to report anyone.

5. Offer a last ditch option in case someone really, truly, needs to report someone (for something more than disagreeing with them).

Hey Calmin....

You make valid points.

Especially on your #1--I don't know why people open a thread when they know its something that will upset them (ie comments about hosts, products, vendors etc)....or they attack posters who give any sort of criticism about QVC .....just move on folks! ...And as I stated in another thread....the hosts/vendors don't need any "defenders" ...these hosts/vendors are adults, and aware that social media will bring all kinds of comments --- good and bad...it comes with their territory....And I don't think a host will lose their job if a QVC poster made a negative comment about them on a forum...

I especially like your ideas on the multiple nic thing for ease in shopping and posting, and to stop people from using multiple nics to troll the boards.

And just like Katie's reply went poof-and from what she said she wrote nothing flaming, we can only surmise why, she should be able to get a valid reason why...

YES, we should and without fear of retaliation from the webbie too... I mean think about it, there are criticisms all over these boards of people, products and the Q itself, but somehow this ONE single product line is sacrosanct? That's malarky!

I get your point and while you make a valid one, there are a couple of things to note here. First, oft times those coming on to rail against the nasties get just as nasty or nastier than the nasties they're railing against... I'd also note that every expression of negativity, dislike or even hostility does NOT qualify as bullying, which has become yet one more over-used buzz word.

Re: NEW COMMUNITY POLL TOP 5 SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE THE FORUM!

I repeatedly always state that all negativity does not qualify as bullying but when someone says they don't like someone or something and then proceed to spew venom by saying anyone who likes and buys certain things are stupid for falling for the hype, etc or by saying they (for instance) don't like the happy dance or a host's clothing and then go on and on to spew venom about that host - WELL it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see they are just rude and nasty and unaccepting of anything that doesn't fit THEIR idea of how someone should act never acknowledging that we all have different personalities. To me all such complaining posts are just fishing expeditions to get the nasties out.

No, we don't, but there are certainly some commonalities and a number of comments that are prevalent...

Pot, meet kettle.

You might want to avoid the Q Does What? forum.

How is that so? I am not the one posting such nastiness - only calling the haters out. Why avoid the bullies and bashers and just let them think they can take over the boards with their nastiness. That is just what they want. The posters that can see the bullies and nastiness need to keep posting and calling them out on it so they know they are in the minority. Ignoring such behavior is only condoning it and the haters will have won by chasing away legitimate posters who don't want this behavior to continue!!! Haters sure can dish it out but can't take being called out on it! I'm pretty sure that all the haters would shrink and be silent if they were face to face with those they are bashing!!! Speaking out takes away their power. It's been proven that when others confront bullies they are cowardly and move on to find another victim until there are none left.

I respect others differing opinions and their ability to state them without being nasty but not the bashing and nastiness some turn an opinion into. I guess some will never get it.
