I was at one time an avid QVC watcher, buyer, fanatic.......but lately I'm not.

I can't stand the "hard sell" on everything.....never coming back at this price, not comig back for 6 months, yada yada yada.....it cheapens the show, the hosts , and the want to watch the presentation...so i wish they would stop this "sell"....I was in retail once understand the hype of selling but do we really need this....

Come on get back to the laid back enjoyable programming you used to have..

Agree.

But it will never happen.

IMO it's been really hard sell for the last 5-10 years. There is a choice to watch it or not.

I now only watch the vidoes on-line, after the show is aired. I only watch certain hosts that are on.

@bad4257I'm actually sort of amused at how different we all are. When I first watched QVC shortly after it became QVC, I was much more interested in the marketing than in feeling anything was laid back or fun.  Some of what was going on then fit into what was going on generally in retailing, but quite frankly, I felt a huge amount was time pressure and price pressure because if you weren't watching, you couldn't order and the prices disappeared.

I find today's marketing far freer for me although maybe I don't feel the pressure just because I watch very little (lots of ways now to know what they're selling and lots more ways to order) and a huge percentage of the many dollars I spend with QVC come from my auto-deliveries.

Today I expect two items I ordered last week in the afternnon mail, and then I may well submit no new orders until Susan Graver brings on her spring clothes!  Doesn't mean I'll necessarily shop elsewhere -  I'm one of retail's nightmares -  have money, don't much care to spend it on things!

I agree.  I miss the "old" QVC.  I doubt they will change so I don't watch or buy as much as I once did.  Also, their quality is definitely down and prices way up.

I see "the hard sell" alot of places anymore. Kohls, JC Penney, Macy's Toys R Us all send me emails....texts...flyers with coupons and "special offers"

I get an email every day from them.

The dog food store wants me to join their "pet club"....the grocery store, walgreens, Rite aid Barnes & Noble all have "reward cards"

They know that when you get your reward that you will most likely spend more than the reward...

I don't really consider remarks like that hard selling.  It's just the way it is.  There is so much competition in sales they have to do something to get you to buy.  QVC is a selling channel not a social channel.  I watch quite often and don't find it annoying.

A harder sales pitch would be ok if we really liked the product and the host and vendor rep.  More than not all are annoying.  When I constantly have to hear a host ask the producer how many were sold in this show I am totally turned off...I just do not care how many they sold in a week or month or in the ten minute time slot.  When I have to hear a long  list of colors over and over I lose interest.  HSN shows them on screen...much better IMO.  And the easy pay option is mentioned so often I tune out.  My wish is to have more items offered each hour with less repetition and less boredom.

What I prefer is about eight items an hour. Just enough time for me to learn what I need before making a decision.
